Based of facts: These people attack in groups, so they're probably individually weak. I have some Tae Kwon Doe training and my brother taught me some moves when he was in the marines. If they've been kicking his ass for a good ten minutes they would probably be tired and look at yourself, you've gotten to the pissed off point where your adreniline is pumping. I don't know about you all, but when I get pissed off I can do some scary shit. I'm not trying to sound badass, and I'm very calm regularly, but when I get like that I black out. So if people's lives were at stake there is no telling what I would do. Plus I'm a pretty big fucking guy. I would gladly save both and have a broken bone and some bruises and by that time, the police would be there. When I get well, I would never go back there again. I would also ask how the people I saved were.
