for pure power - i'd say Freddie Mercury and Meat Loaf (yes he's cheezy but the boy has some pipes!)

for me - i'm a huge fan of Bon Scott - those early AC/DC records (esp. Powerage) had such great rock/blues tracks

Powerage is the best thing AC/DC put out. Kicked in the Teeth is such a dope tune.

Roky Erickson deserves another mention... powerful raw voice

Been listening to some of Our Lady Peace's older stuff lately - Raine Maida's vocals are fantastic. Love that paranoid edge he has...great stuff.

Shame their new single is so awful...haven't listened to the whole album yet, but "All You Did Was Save My Life" is just generic and boring, didn't even realize it was OLP the first time I heard it. Really too bad.

Muddy Waters

Dante'sInferno 03-11-2010 09:22 AM

Dave Gahan

Matthew Bellamy and

Layne Staley are my favorites.

I didn't realize that either but it's just a single right? The label probably pushed that one hard and I'm sure it's the worst one on their album. Ed Kowalczyk, Dave Pirner, Ed Roland, and Adam Duritz are all pretty good too and never get much of a mention. Oh, did anybody mention Billy Corgan? He may not be everybody's style but he's got his own style that's been aped non-stop since Smashing Pumpkins came out.
