Oh, sweet monkey moses! Sorry to hear that, Arioch.

Who the hell leaves a relationship because of a LACK of conflict!? I'll never understand that mindset.

It seems most people associate that kind of thing with women, (and I've dated a couple drama queens in my time) but I once had a guy dump me for his verbally abusive ex. Our relationship, apparently, lacked the drama and antagonism he craved.

*Ahem*...Arioch hasn't been on this forum for about a year, and I don't think he'll ever be back (unless he shows up just to prove me wrong :p...Which I seriously doubt...)....

However, as it turns out, he either wasn't quite the 'nice guy' that he pretended to be, or he decided to stop being 'nice' a few years ago, in order to 'get more chicks'...He's quite the player these days...

Anyway...My point is...For all these guys who say "nice guys finish last"...I gotta wonder...Do they REALLY know what a 'nice guy' is?

Personally, I can't stand assholes, I dealt with that shit for 17 years...Conflict is NOT fun, there are FAR better forms of communication and a MUCH better way to get someone's attention than starting shit...Turmoil sucks ASS...

You wanna get excited, keep someone's attention and expend energy?...You need 'intensity' in a relationship?...You want to keep things from getting 'boring'?...Then FUCK...Don't FIGHT...

I do realize that some people love a challenge, and they actually thrive on the excitement and energy expended in a fight (my ex)...But, that is NOT me (or most sane people)...

All I want...All I have EVER wanted..All I will ever want...Is just peace...serenity...happiness...for my family....Someone who cares, and isn't afraid to show that they care..Someone honest, decent, loyal, intelligent and REAL....Hell, I can even look past 'intelligent', if they've got the rest...The brain makes a better business partner, but the heart makes a better lover...And, the body really isn't even a factor...

As for the perfect girl? How 'bout Baby Firefly minus the psychosis? Or from more old school horror, I'd have to go with Ingrid Pitt. Yum!

Perfect guy? I'd have to go with Shaun from Shaun of the Dead. I'm a sucker for a great smile. And he seems like the kind who would rather spend Saturday night with some great 80s horror on DVD and a case of hard lemonade than out in some smoky club.

Heh...I replied to your post before you editted it...Oh well...

Hey, Rayne....I know what you mean. My ex husband was a full blown nutcase, and boy did he like to fight. Some guys thrive on hurting people who are smaller than they are.
But I can honestly say that I'm not sorry that I went through that experience, because now I know exactly what I will and will not put up with, and it's made my relationships much better.
Because at the first sign of THAT kind of guy, he's out the door.
I'm much happier now.:)

Hmmm....I want THIS guy....strong, magnetic, nature loving and easy to feed.....

monalisa 07-12-2006 03:14 PM

My dream guy, hmmmmm. Well, Otis, minus his necrophiliac, murdering, psycho side. OK a little psycho is alright.

Or someone that looks like this...

AUSTIN316426808 07-12-2006 03:16 PM

So basically, you're looking for a hippie?

monalisa 07-12-2006 03:19 PM

Nope, I just like guys with long hair. But I also like them to be employed and clean. So, I guess Otis would have to get a job and take a shower. Or I'll just go with the guy in the picture I posted. (I wish!)

AUSTIN316426808 07-12-2006 03:26 PM

I was just kiddin, Otis isn't really being a hippie, he's just throwed off and I don't even know who the guy in the picture is.
