Crabapple, as I mentioned in the other thread, I own the 2003 "25th Anniversary Edition" dvd of Halloween. Are you sure that this version also has the rerecorded music you speak of and not the original track? I'm still having a hard time noticing a difference.
And if so, do you know of a version that definitely has the original track so I could seek it out and compare it? |
Hey there, I have yet to see the 25th Anniversary edition, I probably will see this soon and will compare it. As far as the original music tracks, the Criterion edition of Halloween, on laserdisc, features the originals. That's for certain. Most of the EARLY video releases feature the original music.
The "newly created" musical score first came into existence--I think--around 1999 (I think it first showed up on a VHS box touting that Halloween was now "THX" and the box featured a morphing lens image of the Shape mask that changed into the slashing pumpkin graphic), and has been featured in all the rereleases I have seen since that time. So basically, any release that came out before that release, features the original music score because the redone version did not exist yet. I know it's confusing. But it'll get cleared up as more people become aware of it. Here's an image of the release that introduced the "redone" THX mix:http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...lloweenthx.jpg |

Is there going to be another Halloween movie in the near future?
I watched these on TV when they were on for Halloween and was wondering if there was another one in the works yet and if so.... Who's directing it?

Rob Zombie is doing a remake (of sorts) of the original John Carpenter...search Rob Zombie Halloween.
