SwordQuest and Adventure

Replayed Wolfenstein - The New order, and then played The old Blood game/s.
New order was pretty solid. Old Blood, was simpler but pretty fun. Just started "The new Colossus". I'm stoned. Do not much like that you start out confined to a wheelchair. *Looks* great. So far. |
Lowkey p*ssy
Hello Neighbor is actually pretty scary not gonna lie :DD

Got through Wolfenstein: The New Colossus...little disappointing a way to end on top of a rush fight rather than a boss fight.
I'll hope now there's actually another sequel to finish this off as a trilogy. Overall pretty solid title. No complaints really, just that the end didn't feel like one. I've put on Yooka-Laylee. I love the oldskool 2d/3d platformers. Love them. Though I find this one lacking in spirit, it's juse not very fun. Sure it looks shiny it's just not very inspired. Also continuing to play Telltale "The Walking Dead: A new Frontier". I like the storyline enough, your main character is fairly affable, the conflict/s are yknow, interesting enough. Of course it's cool seeing Clementine again, having seen her "grow up" through these titles. More of the same really. It's not like you're really playing a game, it's a polished "choose your own adventure" that feels solidly at home and a part of the Walking Dead universe. If you've played any other telltale games, or any of the quanticdream games and you like the walking dead, or even zombie stories in general, then it's worth picking up this series. |
Finished with TWD, thoughts largely summed up in my previous post. Not my favourite of the series, but solid, entertaining and leaves things in a good place for the final installment.
Yooka Laylee on the other hand I've just given up on. I've played 64 bit era platformers, I know what they were trying to do, and I know they failed. It's not a fun game, like, at all. It's boring. It's annoying and finicky to control - Your characters are actually quite sluggish and some things require a level of maneuverability that they just do not have...many times obstacles and moving hazards came down to retrying and luck. Colourful, bright, cutesy? Sure. Overly repetitive music. I honestly don't even think this game would have succeeded inside the era it was trying to emulate. I'd feel hard pressed to give this any more than a 3/10 for gameplay, maybe 8/10 visually...but that really isn't enough to carry it. Going to try CODWW2 next. |
I'm playing Castlevania DS, the first one. I'll probably slowly go through all three games in anticipation for Bloodstained this year.

Torn-City - Massively multiplayer online text based RPG |
Picked up "Vermintide 2" to play over steam with my brother.
More of the same. Slightly more polished in some ways, dumbed down in others. Kind've different heft to the weapons. Bit more arcadey in formula. I mean to me, it's just more rat killing - and now I get the bonus of a few more skill paths, different species of enemies, larger more open levels (which I can already see two stages in), and some pretty cool mini-boss type encounters. Seems fun so far. Runs fine. |
Yakuza Kiwami.

Here's the gameplay from another player that recorded it. This is not the type of game that is for everyone. |
Resident Evil 2 - Remake
Really really good. |
I am once again downloading WWE 2K 19. It is a good game compared to 2K 18 but considering there are small things that the fans have been asking them to fix for years that they are still ignoring made me decide to get a refund on the pre-order and cents they had it where you could play the game four days early if you pre-ordered it, I wasn't all that impressed for spending $90. Needless to say I found out today for the next two days it is only going to be $30 so I jumped on it. I would gladly pay $30 for everything included in this game.

Fallout 4
Had it sitting there for ages and finally getting round to playing it. |
Still kind of stuck half way through the re-release of Shenmue.
Love the game...but it's one that's a real fucking grind on the replay, so much wandering back and forth, talking, and WAITING. I still enjoy the story, and I wanted to play through these to keep it fresh for when the third title finally comes out, but...to be honest if things don't pick up or I don't start putting a bit more effort in, I think I might end up just watching through a playthrough for that to gear me up. I'm also gearing up to play through the complete edition of "Alien: Isolation". The first time, I played it on a PC that ran it...problematically...kind of threw off the atmosphere at times, though I will say this - if you haven't played it, and are a fan of the ALIEN franchise, it is the best thing they have ever come out with. This time, I've got it on PS4 with my new large screen 4k tv. I'll be playing stoned. In the dark. I am looking to shit myself. |

Splatterhouse 3

Splatterhouse? lol nice, whats that like, you enjoying it?
|
Well...started Alien: Isolation again.
It sure looks better on the 4K and the PS4 runs it smoothly. I have to say, this fucking game...it gets atmosphere right, doesn't it? For fucks sake...even before encountering anything, anyone...just being in this game, even prior to anything going screwy...it feels so damn tense, and it's just about uncomfortable enough to make you feel like you're walking through a mild panic attack. Even the ambient ship/operational sounds evokes perfectly the feeling of being surrounded by space, claustrophobic. It sets up a well done storyline, and feels exactly like it should. Kind of like the first alien film with some slightly newer looking ships and a larger scale. The interior of the ship almost feels nostalgic to the original movie when you're just walking around the initial scenes of the game. Between the AI Alien, an actual storyline, the overall aesthetic and feel of the game, good pacing and challenge level accompanied by a very intelligently used score...this is to me, by no short led, THE best gaming experience ever based on ANY part of the ALIEN/S universe. I would love to see another. I would love to see the same team @ Sega take a swing at their vision of "colonial marines". Gaddamn, this time I'm playing it I'm almost amplifying the experience by worrying about how scared I'm *going to* be. Horror games just don't come this good, folks...not often and really not up at this level. It does the film franchise, the fans and the gamers absolute justice. Play this game already if you haven't people. It's at STUPID low prices. You want to get scared? Play it. |
Conarium
A Lovecraft inspired game. |

Dude. Slow burn, bit of wondering around at first...but builds up the story and the tension and you're feeling like a little bitch before the xeno/s ever show up.
Man, get wasted and start today. Seriously. You get through this game you will be AMAZED by how it makes you feel, it's continuity in the film/s canon, and also the sheer scale of it all. It's in my top 10 games of any kind, ever. |
I have to play that Alien game. I read some of the story a while ago and didn't like it that much. But I keep hearing about how good the actual game is.

Spec Ops: The Line

Fucking loved that game.
It's like...apocalypse now in a game. |

How you doing on it now?
I kinda stopped my replay. Not for any particular reason...I just find I get fatigued on replays and I think I'll leave it a bit longer to restart and play again. I've mainly been playing "Vermintide 2" with my brother online. Played all the stages but it's still fun to get in there killing things, take part in the weekly challenges and just talk on headsets. We have a switch now...not too interested in any of the games except maybe the NSMB and Mario Party games. Maybe Zelda. Though I'm thinking about playing some of the NES games that are available on it. Never did play "Kid Icarus". I hear good things. |
Outward ps4
Subnautica ps4 |
I have subnautica on steam.
Always thought it looked interesting...though when I got into it I didn't know really what I was supposed to be doing. It seemed as though it was meant to be along the lines of minecraft, is that right? On another point - Has anyone here played the game called "Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice"? It's not the newest any more, but it looks great to me. |
Quote:
Yes, Hellblade is a good game. Much of the game feels like a walking simulator, which is fine as it has a strong and interesting story to back it up. |
