I'm in Dublin for a couple of days, I did 9 pints of Guiness last night, then the funds ran out. But I'm cashed up again and will get a few more in before my flight.

Fookin' Hell

Every pint is like eating a meal, how the hell can you stomach so much?

I can only drink one, maybe two, but I dont like the taste that builds up so have to stop.

Haha, no kidding. 9 pints of Guinness...wow.
When I was in Dublin I was lucky enough to have a couple pints of the black stuff in a pub just a mile or so from St. James' Gate.

Yeah, got a couple more in tonight before the flight. I'm feeling pretty bloated, everything I ate in the last two days was some type of sandwich or roll or pizza, so much bread.... That combined with the guinness.

The Guinness tasted so good though I would have had a few more if I had the time.

Had a nice little beer tasting with some friends this evening.

First off, we tried Brooklyn Local 2, a great Belgian-style strong dark ale. Lots of plumb and honey notes coming through, and very smooth.

After that we tried the Guinness 250th Anniversary Stout.

And were thoroughly disappointed. It kind of tasted like somebody spilled water in regular Guinness.

Oh well.

I tried that recently as well. It kind of grows on you after awhile, but still, I was expecting to be at least a little impressed. To me it tasted like they just mixed regular Guinness with the Extra Stout version.

Had another beer tasting with some friends today.

Unibroue's Trois Pistoles- an excellent dark Belgian ale

Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout- for a stout, it's fairly light. Overall, very nice.

and Sprecher Black Bavarian- a wonderful, smooth dark lager

Went to a beer tasting in the city today; we sampled a few brews from Rogue out of Oregon:

Mom Hefeweizen
Chipotle Ale
Dead Guy Ale
Double Dead Guy Ale
Imperial India Pale Ale

All of them were great, except the Chipotle Ale.

I picked up their Rogue Chocolate Stout, an Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout, and a Sinebrychoff Porter.

This is one of my all time favorites!

@Return (and Fortunato)
With the La Fin Du Monde, do you notice a taste difference in the shape of the glass you are drinking it from? I usually drink it in a rounded goblet like glass. Since we are moving and still unpacking, I had in a regular pint glass the other night. Now, i hadn't had it in awhile, but it just didn't taste the same and wasn't as good as I remember.
