DARKMAN (1990) Pretty good little flick that was really funny in parts. ***

The Do-Over.
Bit stupid in parts...of course, it's Sandler.
However, I wouldn't discourage people to watch it.

I used to quite like Sandler. The wedding Singer, The Waterboy, Airheads, Lil Nicky, Mr Deeds, Bulletproof, 8 crazy nights, I thought Reign over Me was actually pretty interesting too.

I never much got into the two that seem to be universally loved by his fanbase Happy Gilmore and Billy Maddison, they just didn't do anything for me.

Though in my mind he's made some really dogshit straight up dumb and unwatchable movies in the later parts of his career. Won't bother mentioning them, but I'll just say the vast majority after 50-first-dates, which I thought was "ok".

This one though?
Maybe it's because he wasn't playing Sandler?
Maybe it's because he wasn't the lead strictly.
For me though, this was the best Adam Sandler film I've seen in some time.
Not really "among his best", true, but a damn site closer to form than most of what I've seen him do in the last decade.

It's on netflix, give it a look with an open mind.

Antibodies (2007) 10/10
German director Christian Alvart (Case 39) creates a psychological thriller with shocking twists and turns from the moment it hits the screen. Serial killer Gabriel Engel has brutally slaughtered at least a dozen boys and creates art with their blood. When the psychopath is captured, Berlin police is poised to close the string of murders. But in a nearby village, a simple rural cop, Michael Martens, is consumed with solving the homicide of a young local girl. In spite of the evidence, he is convinced that the crimes are connected. As Michael hopes to get a confession from Gabriel, his inquiries pull him into the twisted mind of the deranged killer. When the investigation takes an unexpected turn, the real killer may be much closer to Michael than ever imagined.

DEAD TONE 2007

A group of young kids are having a sleepover while their parents are partying in another part of the house. They play prank calls on random numbers and then basically pass out. Hours later one of them is woken by the phone ringing. He answers it, an axe packed intruder smashes through the front and slaughters all the parents.

Ten years later...
