Ha ha HAAAAA!! :D
Bored still?! 1 - 0 to GHANA! |
Oh.. there it was.
|
Poor defending and the keeper should not be beaten at the near post like that. It was a good hit though.

HALFTIME WHISTLE -
USA - 0 GHANA - 1 (KP Boateng 5') The first 30-odd minutes belonged entirely to the Africans. They showed a lot of skill and pace as they kept piercing through USA's defenses repeatedly, and were denied plenty of half-chances. USA's defence looks full of loopholes. The Americans tried to pull back some of their own attacks during the final 15 minutes of the first half, but Ghana held on to leave the field with that scoreline. Kingson, the Ghana GK and one of the best GKs on view in this WC, pulled off one fantastic save to deny USA a sureshot goal during this time. Ghana's defenses look vulnerable though. The Americans should fancy their chances in the second half. Thing is, Ghana's attacks look pretty unstoppable. Can they keep Ghana's attacks at bay and pull 2 goals out of the hat? Wait and see. |
Dominated in every aspect of the game. Now that's the US team I know and love.
|
"Danish" Feilhaber is doing well. YAY!:D
|
penalty!!!
|
Anddddddddd...
PENALTY KICK TO THE USA!!!! |
Its 1 - 1 BABYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! :D
|
Uuuuhhhhhh.... close.
|
Why can't they play like this in the first half of matches?
|
I think it's for away game rule but that's a bit disturbingly colorful jersey for Ghana. Ivory Coast had funny one against Brazil match. But liked the jersey colors in Ghana-Germany match...Black on white & White on Black.
Anyway, let's get back to the match...it's now Ghana-1 & USA-1! This game is getting pretty intense. |

...only explanation I can think of. |

Roshiq, whatever it is you're smoking pass it over here. :p |

They're all doped in the second half. |
Totally agree with V. They need the 1st 45 minutes to get the momentum in every game and then begins to play some class football.
|
Great match...

5 minutes remain... |
Looks like we are headed for an extra double session of 30 minutes, people.
|
I think Bob Bradley is one of the most coolest team managers in this tournament besides the Spanish and North Korean coach. :)

FULL TIME - Match #50 (ROUND OF 16 - #2) -
USA - 1 (Donovan *PK* 62') GHANA - 1 (KP Boateng 5') Fascinating football in the second half. USA looked SO much improved that its hard to believe they are the same team who got their asses cooked time and time again in the first half. Both teams went for broke during the final 15-odd minutes or so, but even 3 minutes of extra added time couldn't see any late goals. We head into Extra Time. 30 more minutes - 2 halves of 15 minutes each. If that fails to produce any goals, it will be the Shootout. |
GHANA lead 2 - 1!!
|
that's really a classic striker's goal! But they should allow him to continue his signature dance.
|
so we have to wait for the 2nd half of extra time for USA to level the scoreline?

HALFTIME WHISTLE OF EXTRA TIME -
USA - 1 GHANA - 2 That fabulous strike by Gyan in the 93rd minute put Ghana back in front again. Will USA again bring in the equaliser in the second half of ET? It looks very likely, given their track record. ;) |
Plenty of class from Ghana with the phantom falls, but it's not like they're the only ones that pull that.
Anyway.. if this is it, I have to say it was a lot of fun while it lasted. |

USA still has one last hurrah left... |
FULL TIME + EXTRA TIME - Match #50 (ROUND OF 16 - #2) -
USA - 1 (Donovan *PK* 62') GHANA - 2 (KP Boateng 5') (Gyan 93') What a superb game of football! Easily one of the best of this WC so far. USA should be really proud of their showing in WC 2010. They bow out of this tournament with their heads held high. Ghana march on, ahead into the Round of 8 - the Quarter Finals. They will face Uruguay next. |
It was a good game but I don't think the US did themselves justice. They didn't play near to their potential but well done Ghana.
Its good an African nation is still in the competition. |
On the hot-plate menus for tomorrow...
GERMANY - ENGLAND ARGENTINA - MEXICO Let's see some predictions. The first one should be a real cracker of a match. I ll give a slight edge to Germany. Argentina should have the second one covered though. Pretty safe bet. Its close to 2 40 AM, folks. Good thing tomorrow is a Sunday. Good night. Till we meet tomorrow! |

USA played some late entertaining football in this WC. Kudos to them for making it so far with plenty of drama & excitement.
And Ghana is surely the better side tonight and physically & tactically a great match for Uruguay in the quarter final. Congrats Ghana...congrats Gyan...want to see your fabulous dance move more in this tournament.:) |

But anyway, let's hope for the best...GO ARGENTINA! I'll love to see some Messi-Massacre inside the Mexican D-box & goal post. |
|
20 minutes into the match...
ITS 1 - 0 TO GERMANY!!! Miroslav Klose gets through some very shoddy English defense. |
What a FANTASTIC EXTREME ANGLE for PODOLSKI!!!
Superbbbbbbbb Goal!! 2 - 0 GERMANY! |
England pull ONE back!!
2 - 1, Germany still lead. Superb curler in by Gerrard off a short corner kick, which is perfectly headed in by Upson. ...and seconds within that, ENGLAND HAVE BEEN DENIED A SURESHOT GOAL WHICH WOULD HAVE EQUALISED THE SCORE TO 2 - 2!!! Lampard's shot ricocheted off the top part of the goal post and thundered between the post and the line 2-3 times before the GK caught it and ran out. Replays showed that the ball was most definitely IN!! Sheer bad luck for England. Another bit of extremely poor refereeing. |
Haven't seen a replay yet, but I'm pretty sure Lampard just scored right?
