Well the Evil Dead Series are definally goofy - they take a lot of inspiration from the 3 Stooges yet the whole trilogy is excellent.

Same with Brain Dead (aka Deaqd Alive) - the violence verges on that of the road runner but its till a great film (because of rather than inspire of).

I do agree with you that Crap films with crap humor in them tend to be ..well Crap..

To be honest i dont rate Evil Dead 2 and 3 that much,sure they are fun but not films i can rewatch over and agin.
Brain Dead is a rarity in that it is meant to be funny from the off.And does it well.
Humour has to be dealt with in the proper manner overwise it becomes a mess.

Wes Craven and Marianne Maddalena are producing under his Midnight Pictures shingle, along with Sean S. Cunningham, who produced the original. Adam Alleca rewrote the original to give it a more realistic tone. Pre-production has started this past March in Africa. I have no further info. Pretty exciting.

Garret Dillahunt has joined the cast of Wes Craven's "Last House on the Left" redo for Rogue.
