I definitely agree. As much as the Jason movies lampoon the slasher franchise, I believe that they do so much more effectively than the Freddy movies do. Freddy began as a purposefully ridiculous gorefest while Jason attempted to create an actual twist...

I still maintain that the two would never be able to compete... I believe that Jason's dreams would be so incredibly twisted (if, in fact, he DID dream), that Freddy would still be on Jason's turf, not his own.

This is all purely speculative, however... :p
