Who said that? Jurassic park and scream are in my top 5 films!

To be completely honest, I don't think evil dead's are great either. The second one was funny the first time I saw it, but now only 3 little parts are, and its way too corny, even though meant to be, for my taste. The first one was good, but I just don't care for it that much.

As far as a movie that I like but feel is way overrated... Braindead. I dug the movie, I own it and have watched it plenty of times, but I feel it gets a wee bit too much praise.

It's long, that's true, but I can't even see how anyone could consider it boring at all. I thought it was EXCELLENT!!!!

Wow nothing like falling into the trap and giving people shit...in a thread...about giving people shit for their opinions. Sheesh

Anyway as for me I personally didnt like any of the Halloween movies they just didn't live up to the hype for me and I found them generally unscary

It seems like this is a major issue as far as enjoyment of a film goes. I don't think it really has any bearing on how I feel about a film UNLESS that hype comes with a spoiler that ruins the ending.

That is true, hype definitly become a factor. I was expecting much better then what I got which I thought was an ok film, not horrible in any means but didn't stand out as a masterpiece for me.

Another huge factor is that watching this movies 20/30 years after its release they seem cliche thanks to the thousands of cookie-cutter movies that used many of the movies ideas. Then, even though the movie pioneered some techniques and came out before these other movies, they seem played out because you have seen them a hundred times in latter movies.

I can understand that one too. Halloween was probably the first slasher I saw and loving it so much then probably impacts how I feel about it now quite a bit.

I'm not a real big fan of The original Dawn of the Dead. Also, I haven't been found of any movies pre 1965, they just seem too dated and lame to me. Maybe it's because I'm still fairly young...I'm 28.
