Studios are having it out with special effects, trying to make the coolest, cleanest looking cgi movie. Im not sure if I'll go to see it, only because its coming out when all these music festivals are going on but Im sure I'll download it if I can find a good enough copy.

it is going to be based more on the true story. which is messed up.

I can't stand most 70s films - they are just too cheesy and outdated. Only a few great classics really hold up.

This fact just puts me off watching the original. I'll see the remake though to see what they do with it (and it's going to be gory).

I like it when there is at least a shot of outragous amounts of blood flilling a room, dripping down a wall, covering a cast member..

I hadn't even heard about this until I saw a big advert on a bus going past the other day.

There was head-shaking, and some eye-rolling.

Haven't seen it yet but it's certainly on my must-see list

there are movies that get remade for reasons i can understand ..

- technology is so advanced today that some films can benefit from better FX

- the film is made by a big fan of the origional who wants to pay 'homage'

- the film was poorly made the 1st time and someone saw how to breath some life into it.

- reintroduce a classic to a new generation of movie gowers.

all that said, i dont know what the impetus was for remaking this movie ..

It looks like a pedestrian remake of a pedestrian film...about a 'true story' utterly pointless to me.

Agree
...but even if a director is a big fan of the old one ...it still can suck...
