I'm going to present a very unpopular opinion, seeing as I loved Freddy vs. Jason. I thought it was an intricate, visually striking and clever film with a LOT going for it. I like Ronnie Yu. I liked Bride of Chucky and I happen to have purchased Freddy vs. Jason. So, if Ronnie Yu directs this film and it is written by somebody with a brain in their head, like Freddy vs. Jason was, it might turn out cool. Freddy vs. Jason was not all about Freddy and Jason beating the crap out of each other for ninety minutes. But, if you bring in another mute bruiser like Michael Myers, the risk of that happening is quite present. The problem would be making Jason and Michael watchable on screen together. There would need to be a damn good reason for Michael to enter the mix and damn good mortal characters. Freddy vs. Jason was not a Godzilla movie, it dealt mostly with the people in the periphery dealing with the two monsters and not much of a slugfest. If the director and writers approach it is an Inoshiro Hondo style monster melee, they will greatly shortchange the audience. That being said, Kaiju fans don't take offense at what might be interpreted as my disparaging remarks. I grew up on Godzilla myself.

I'm down with that. Treat it comic book style and enjoy the ride.

Jason vs Mikey would be a hell of a fight towards the end. It'll take some amazing scripting to pull off the film until the final showdown. But if done well this could give a deeper insight into these silent killers.... there's a lot of possiblity. These two muthafukkkas just need to be put in the right vehicle.

But the sad truth of it is that it'll be scripted by some chump with no idea for the genre or appreciation of the two series' of films.

The Predator and Alien are a similar case and moments of that film worked so I wouldn't write it off completly. But yeh like a said a great script by those with knowledge, appreciation and passion could make this shit a cult classic (is there any other kind in the genre?).

i think they need to get out of the box on this one - -- forget michael - have Freddy vs. Jason vs. Hillary Duff. . . i mean they've got the gore factor, but she's got the annoyance factor

Now that would be a hell of a movie! It'd have to be at least 4 hours long though to make it worth while.
