Well, Ive yet to see either, but from what I could gather, #2 is more of a remake than a sequel. I personally would rather watch the 1st one before the 2nd though

2 isn't a remake.

This is what you should watch...

Hellraiser
Un Chien Andalou
Dead Alive
Re-Animator
Evil Dead (save the sequels for another time)

and top it off with............................

The Exorcist 3 (the only film that scared me!)

as you can see I started you off with some fleshy films so that you wouldn't get bored, and toped it off with something scary.

To broaden the tastes of yourself and your guests, why not try a horror through the ages night?

Start out with the Old time Silent movie, Nosferatu (1922). Keep going down the timeline to Night of the Living Dead (1969). Skip a few more years to Halloween (1979), or The Shining (Same year). Finish the night with one of todays best entrys in the genre, Id suggest Jeepers Creepers, Dog Soldiers, or The Bone Snatcher.

Halloween is 78 and shining is 80 (released same day as F13)

Hmm....How bout some great actors, in what would be considered [By me, at least:p] their best roles?

Start with Phantom of the Opera [Lon Cheney]. Contiinue with Pit and the Pendulum [Vincent Price], followed by either the 1931 Dracula w/ Bela Lugosi, or Horror of Dracula, with Christopher Lee. Finish with Kack "Heeeere's Johnny!" Nicholson in The Shining.
