I don't care if they make 1000 post, they'll still newbies to me. I'm just glad some of the good ol' members still post. I farelly see hardly any these days. Arioch is the most active I've seen. Now a long time ago (when I had my older name) I made a thread like this. But it wasn't as serious as it is now. Am I the only one who noticed this? And please, I don't want any newbies posting here. The people who should be able to post here know who they are.
People like this really piss me off. Its just like fans of particular bands hate it when the bands attract new fans - but they're never 'REAL' fans cos they weren't there from the start back in the day.

You just gotta accept.....you cant stop change. And maybe some 'NEWBIES' might bring up an interesting topic to talk about.

Personally myself, I cant stand the 'tourneys' on here. A bit too gay for me. Woopee.....the 'best toothpaste tourney'....etc etc.

And I do agree with the opinion that there are too many arseholes here who are just out to go one better than any 'NEWBIE' who might suggest something that is incorrect.

I remember back when I was a n00b, I got flamed. Fortunately, I had been reading posts on the site long before I actually registered, so I knew beforehand what happened to n00bs when they started posting. I just rode it out, tried not to take it personally, and showed the members here I had something worthwhile to offer. After a while, I was accepted.

The seasoned members here know that n00b bashing is a sort of initiation ritual here at horror.com, and those that can't handle it don't continue to post. Personally, I think it is a needed ritual. Some of the threads get pretty heated, and you need to be able to handle insults if you want to get involved in them. Also, there was a brief time when Kpro stopped flaming the n00bs (under the advice of Candyman, who never posts here anymore), and suddenly we were overrun with people who flooded the boards with nothing relevant. Everyday we had new members starting up old topics, or initiating threads that were just plain stupid and boring. This caused some good members to leave, and I thought about leaving myself. But I couldn't bring myself to do it.

I don't post as much nowadays because school is back in session, and even when I'm not teaching, I'm at home grading papers and preparing for the next day. Thankfully, I am on fall break this week. :D

I didn't like him. I can't stand that ghetto-speak... I deal with it on a daily basis in class, and it pisses me off. Actually, it's not the ghetto-speak I mind, it's the fact that the people who speak it get all pissed off if I can't understand a fucking word they're saying. Come on! Don't go making up some word, or change the meaning of an already existing word, for absolutely no reason, and then walk around expecting everyone to understand your ass.

Vodstok 10-12-2004 11:21 AM

c'mon, dawg. yous isnt down wit da ghetto-speak, yo?

Few things put me into a homocidal rage more than that bullshit. Anyone who actually has a love for the english language is in mortal agony whenever they have to listen to or read that crap.

i have met VERY few people who talked like that that actually had a brain in their. geberally speaking people who use that "vernacular" are mental midgets who worship morons to begin with.

GorePhobia 10-12-2004 12:48 PM

I feel the whole "ebonics" thing is for people who are uneducated, or choose to represent themselves as uneducated. Now, please don't turn this into a racsist thing, because honestly, I see more whites than blacks using ebonics here.
