 The Departed (2006) - 9/10.
One of my favourite Scorsese flicks. |

 Ken Park
I remember this movie was banned in Australia just before it was due to be released, but I couldn't remember why. I guess it was just all the penises.. It's a gritty and bleak film though, it leaves an impact though the ending was a bit dissapointing. 7/10 |

Watched "Last House On The Left" last night. Its been about thirty years since I've seen it. Was a bit disappointed. While this had some truly horrific scenes the dopey comedy bits almost ruined the movie. Lets hope the remake leaves them out.

 Friday the 13th (2009)
Pretty underwhelmed. Not that I was necessarily expecting anything great, but it just seemed to be a distillation of the first three films all in one package, ready for mass consumption. I didn't really see anything special. Just another remake. |

 Midnight Cowboy (1969) - 10/10.
One of my favourite films. Dustin Hoffman is great in this. |

 Alien Raiders
this one i bought on a whim -ended up enjoying it. made the most of a small budget .. excellent unknown cast. well written. |

 East of Eden
Wonderful performances, and a great script...really liked this one. Plus it's the first full movie I've seen with James Dean - wow, what a talent. Shame he only did 3 movies, could have gone on to real greatness. Rebel Without a Cause ...and to back up my last point: what a stunning performance this one is. First time that I've properly watched this one, and what a powerful and iconic film it is. Could easily become a favourite of mine. Vincent Price: The Sinister Image Very interesting interview. Price always seems like such a sweet and intelligent man...he has always been one of my idols. This doesn't really say anything that I didn't already know, but it's always fascinating to listen to someone you admire speak about their life. This DVD has some great features on it as well: I especially enjoyed the 2 television specials. The Weird, Wild World of Dr. Goldfoot and Half Hour to Kill: Freedom to Get Lost - both were highly entertaining. I haven't gotten to the radio show included (Three Skeleton Key) or the audio interview, but you can bet that I will. An essential buy for any Price fan :) |

Pretty decent sci fi thriller. Simple story, nicely executed. |

 This is England
It's alright, but it gives a skewed view of skinheads for the most part of the film. And it was another ending that left me feeling like somthing was missing. As though there was somthing more to be said. 6.5/10 |

 Taxi Driver (1976) - 10/10.
Not only my favourite Scorsese flick, but most likely my favourite film out there. |

 Brand Upon the Brain!
I sincerely want to thank Fortunato for suggesting this one...what a wonderful experience this film is. Such a beautifully made excursion into the surreal...it combines conventions of silent film with some theatrical sensibilities and a fantastic horror/sci-fi vibe. It's funny, touching, chilling and just all-around enthralling - I'll second Fortunato's recomendation, and say that this is essential viewing for anyone interested in surrealist cinema. I really have to check out more of Maddin's work, ASAP. |

 - the matrix (been a while)
	- Tommy Boy - Futurama (the green movie - i forget the title) - Ma Mere - a french film about perversion... those nutty french |

 Another movie I haven't seen since I was a kid....Scream & Scream Again.
Doesn't hold up well with time and it has the BIG THREE in it [ Price, Lee and Cushing] Kinda lame. |

Attempted to sit through A Scanner Darkly, the animation style was really awkward to watch, gave up after half an hour. |

 Day of the Dead
It's been way too long since I watched a zombie movie...and this is one of the best, hands down. Not quite on par with Night of course, but I personally think it's head-and-shoulders above Dawn. Great characters, and some awesome additions to the zombie mythos - an all-time favourite to be sure. |

 Dark Harbor
Forgettable, despite Alan Rickman, with a contrived twist ending. |

From the "so bad it's good" category..."The Thing With Two Heads" .
from the "just not very good" category..."Mirrors". from the "funnier than I thought it would be" category..."How to Lose Friends & Alienate People" Simon Pegg would not be the first name to come to mind when thinking Romantic Comedy.....but he's very good in this. |

 The Wrestler
Rourke deserves every bit of praise he got for this...phenomenal performance. Great movie all-around - Aronofsky just keeps sealing his spot among the great directors of his generation. It was pretty cool...I pretty much got a private screening of this one. Went to a matinée, and was the only one in the theatre. Had the place to myself, haha. |

"Candyman", "Candyman: Farewell To The Flesh", "Candyman 3: Day Of The Dead" and "Dawn Of The Dead"(2004).
