BFG edition of DOOM3.
I missed this when it first came out, well I had a bit of a go at it when I was at an internet cafe with games but it was very slow to start so I never managed to get into it. Thought I'd give this a go as it's meant to look a bit better and addressed a major issue (the torch thing?) that people had with the first release. I don't mind it, quite atmospheric but vastly different from the series up to that point...not that I was expecting something THAT oldskool...but yeah it's alright. A bit annoying that more things have just snuck up on me or appeared behind me than in maybe any other game I've ever played. The narrative/storyline addition serves the evolution well, as does the PDA system VS the old looking around for various coloured keys. I'll give it this, it does manage to put me on edge. Kind of makes me yearn for something new to feel a little more oldskool, but it's a relatively well made game, even if it is showing it's age somewhat. I'll probably play through. |

Would you still recommend this game to me knowing this? |

Hard to say really. But i'll tell you this. I'm not a big fan of linear games either, and this is one of the best games i have ever played due to the characters and the story. Nothing i can say about any other game i've played. Heavy Rain comes closest, but i prefer this kind of gameplay. |

I would call it a blend between The Road & Dawn of the Dead, with a bit of the Uncharted action/gameplay. |
Final Fantasy Dissidia, its pretty interesting so far, seems to have a lot of replay value but I can't shake the feeling that there's a mechanic I'm missing. Ah well, I didn't have time to jump into an RPG but was looking for a good (and sorry guys, linear) single play game with a story I could get behind. This might do it.

"Heroes of Might & Magic V" PC
Same gameplay but with much improved graphics since IV. So far i'm a fan. |
Just got done with "Escape from Butcher Bay".
Very early stages of "Assault on Dark Athena " now. Interesting to read about the overall development saga of this game, from what it was meant to be, to what it became... Though yeah anyways, feels like at the moment I'm playing just...more of Butcher Bay in a different setting, but that's cool - I wanted more out of that. Looks fine. Seems to be as interesting as the first game so far. |
I'm back on the WoW and Lord of the Rings Online. What can I say; I've always been a sucker for a good mmorpg.
And speaking of rpg's, I'm currently running two tabletop campaigns. One of which is in Pathfinder RPG and the other is in The One Ring. Still playing Arkham Horror occasionally also. It's a boardgame based on the Cthulhu Mythos. |
Payday 2, a BLAST with people you know and an exercise in futility with a group of strangers.
- Also, Dragon's Crown, one of the best beat em' ups I've ever played. It plays like a cross between the old D&D beat em' ups, Golden Axe, and Diablo. Diggin' it. |
Just bought The Last of Us.Will give it a blast later, from the reviews and opinions here sounds like one to savour.

GTA V
Not exactly "right now" but later tonight. |

GTAV.
While I can say it's more towards what GTA4 *should have* been, it's a bit of a yawn really. I like one of the three protagonists (M), the others, whatever. Storyline is ok. Better variation in missions, I like the heists though really they are just multi-part missions. I like the return of the "skill" type stuff last seen in GTASA. I dunno, I'll play it but I'm not wowed. Even by the HUUUUUUGE MAP MANNNNN everyone keeps mentioning. 6/10 thus far. |

But it isn't mindblowingly awsome. The Best game of the year is still "The last of us". |
GTA V still.
At about 35% mission completion now. Went to flying school...control of the flying vehicles was not easily grasped, as I had expected from this franchise. I do not like games where you have to fly things. The storyline/backstory has become a little more complex as it goes along. As I play through, I'm seeing some things that I like, improvements if you will. Shitload of random events... I mean, I'm not sure what to say "It's GTA". Probably stands at about a reconsidered 7.2 with me at this stage. |
I finished the GTA V main storyline on Wednesday at midnight. I thought it was amazing; definitely the best in the series. In my opinion, it blew GTA IV out of the water. I found the missions to be some of the most interesting in the series (I loved the scores ones especially) and there was excellent character development. As for the world, it was absolutely huge and really felt like a real metropolis. The nature aspect was nearly as stunning (I loved how they added some wildlife). Additionally, the realism was incredible. I was like four or five days into the game and I still could not get over the realism. It may not be the best video game ever, but it is definitely in my top ten of all-time and I would put it as the best of the year (even over The Last of Us). Thus, a 10/10.

GTA V. I like it so far. I don't know if I can say anything that hasn't already been said about the game. I usually like Rockstar games, even though I'm normally a strictly-fantasy rpg guy.
I think Bully has been my favorite Rockstar game yet, but I'm not even close to finished with GTA V. I'm at about 35% or so. It seems like they're working in some stuff that worked for them in Re Dead Redemption, and have discarded some of the worse aspects of previous GTA games. I know that's probably common sense. Also playing WoW and LoTRO, while waiting for ESO. |

The release will truly be physical as it'll ship in a box copy with the game on a physical disc. Stores around North America will have the game available starting November 12, and it'll be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. The boxed title will be priced at $19.99, which is five bucks more than the digital release." Transylvania level... great music. That's it... I'm hooking up the NES. |

It will be great! |
Just finished Episode 1 of Telltale's Walking Dead game.
Really really enjoyed it ... I love the comic book style artwork, and the time-out for conversations/decisions etc is a nice touch that gives the game some sense of pace and stops it being just an interactive novel on PC. Great stuff, looking forward to pressing on with E2. |
Outlast! Close to the ending.
|
Finished the Walking Dead games ... absolutely brilliant.
|
Horror titles on sale on PSN. I think I'm going to get a game or two.

Other than that I'm still loving The Last of Us. Again, another fantastically produced game. |
