Watched the first half of "Lost boys 2".
Really dreading it, but it's not actually as bad as one would expect...sure, it's not great, but it's at least watchable.

No it isn't.

And the very ending ruins EVERYTHING!!!

Then you need to watch this one http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0958827/ :D

The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008)

I agree with Urge on this one. The storyline was really pretty interesting, and daring, too, for a PG rated movie. On top of that, the visuals were stunning. But that kid- Freddie whats-his-name. He was good in Finding Neverland and all the other stuff he did previously, but now that he's hitting puberty (and trying out an American accent) he just doesn't have the same effect.

Anyway, not a bad way to spend an hour and a half.

Angra 11-28-2008 04:09 PM

"THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN" 7/10

Boring lead character vs. cool butcher.

Well... it manage to keep my interest. Didn't care too much for the ending tho.

Painfulldeath 11-28-2008 08:42 PM

Eastern Promises - Solid. I was expecting a faster pace and more of your typical thriller tension. Regardless, it had some good moments; including one of the most awkward and brutal fight scenes ever. Viggo Mortensen's performance was phenomenal. 7/10

Casablanca - Amazing. Now I see why this is considered amongst the best movies of all time. Sometimes, I tend to notice how dated some things are when watching older movies. Not in this one. It really grabs you from beginning till the end and you forget it was made 66 years ago. Humphrey Bogart was one cool motherfucker. 9.9/10

neverending 11-28-2008 08:44 PM

Well always have Paris!

Painfulldeath 11-28-2008 08:45 PM

Here's looking at you kiddo.

Kane_Hodder 11-28-2008 10:15 PM

Rosemary's Baby.

Phalanx 11-28-2008 10:18 PM

The rest of lost boys 2.
I don't like the way it went for cheap laughs, but I didn't hate it completely...nothing on the first on at all though.

neverending 11-29-2008 12:56 AM

Bed of Roses.

By the numbers romantic drama with Mary Stuart Masterson & Christian Slater. Disappointing because I like Mary Stuart Masterson.

Phalanx 11-29-2008 03:30 AM

How much do you like her?

urgeok2 11-29-2008 04:05 AM

- Turok Son of Stone .. my kid liked it - i wasnt crazy about it

- run fatboy run. predictable but funny anyway. lord thandie newton is beautiful. have more respect for her as an actress now (she was wasted in MiII)

The_Return 11-29-2008 07:59 AM

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance

Well, it's not Oldboy...but still a damn good movie.

Wasn't crazy about the script though - I'm all for ambiguity, but I think they left a little too much out. Otherwise, it was pretty badass.

newb 11-29-2008 08:10 AM

Narnia:Prince Caspian

it was aight.....not as good as the first. Kinda draggy

urgeok2 11-29-2008 09:25 AM

The Rage ..

fun gooey monster movie. tons of gore effects - a little decently done cgi but the film doesnt rely on it. one or 2 decent performances.

good fun ...

Roderick Usher 11-29-2008 11:12 AM

Billy the Kid

A documentary about an odd kid with emotional problems, delusions of his place in the world and a philosopher's soul. Interesting, but not great.

6/10

ferretchucker 11-29-2008 03:01 PM

Evil Dead

7/10

Marroe 11-29-2008 04:41 PM

Been watching mainly documentaries. "Super High Me", and "Bowling for Columbine" Yesterday.

newb 11-29-2008 07:52 PM

The Dark Knight

Just as good at home

of course a 100 inch projector screen and surround sound don't hurt.

Painfulldeath 11-29-2008 08:42 PM

Brazil - Jesus what a mind fuck. Words can't really describe this movie so no use trying. It gets extra marks on its extravagant setting and overall effort. Still, I've never seen a movie where I disliked the main character (and all of the others) so much. I actually wanted them to all die a miserable death (except Deniro of course). Just not my cup of tea. 5.75/10.

Surveillance - This one starts off in typical detective movie fashion. For the first 45 minutes I was thinking jeez... This is gonna suck! The violence picks up after a while and then there's a pretty cool twist that totally redeems the movie. 7/10

The Substitute [Vikaren] (2008)

http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/gall...karen%29_3.jpg

A Danish mediocre sci-fi film for the children. The plot was quite lame & common but the effects, making & the acting were kinda funny & watchable. I didn't get the idea why they dubbed it so horribly?! It would be somewhat better if they left it with only subtitles.

Time of Darkness [Pora Mroku] (2008)

http://twitchfilm.net/site/images/sl.../PoraMroku.jpg

A Polish Horror. There was a boring & kinda stupid 'cat & mouse' game all through the movie. Slightly influenced by Hostel.

Wow dude. You've really gone foreign this time.

The strong moments in "The substitute" was definitely in the class room. Too bad the director hadn't noticed that..

urgeok2 11-30-2008 04:26 AM

battlestar galactica (season 1 - 4 hour miniseries)

woah ... ok - i have to admit - this show is good.
well crafted, great effects - probably the best i've ever seen for a TV show...
most of the characters are strong (with a couple of definite exceptions)

i'm impressed.. and from what i heard the show gets better as it progresses..

looks like i have me some new treadmill walking material

Phalanx 11-30-2008 05:04 AM

Ha, you do the treadmill tv thing? seems a good enough way to "work out".
Yeah, I like BSG a lot.
The last season/split season was a little bit disappointing by comparison, but the show remains watchable, for sure...lots of twists and turns, and you'll think things you don't quite expect right now.
The space battles are done beautifully, I remember that first explosion, the oppressive silence of it...the sets, the effects, the cast, and the music are all with little peer in this days tv.

SamCostello 11-30-2008 10:45 AM

Midnight Meat Train – Finally saw this on FearNet the other night and liked it a lot. Not perfect, but it had a lot going for it and actually left me a little scared after it ended – which is rare for me. Check this one out if you can find it.

WALL·E

One of the most incredible animated films of all time. I'm super upset that I wasn't able to catch it in theatres...must have been breathtaking.

"They Call Me Bruce"
-Bruce Campbell

An absolute modern classic. Brilliant for fans of Campbell. I loved it.

Quite possibly my favorite show of all time. I think that Season One is brilliant, Season 2 is even better, while Season 2.5 and the beginning of Season 3 is breathtaking and AMAZING. I am ridiculously impressed at how they construct strong AND believable female characters (Starbuck is my hero). Hope you continue to enjoy it.

Agreed. I'd say that the latter half of Season 3 and Season 4 were both ridiculously disappointing - Too much drama and too much divergence from the major plot points (and too many autonomous episodes as opposed to grand over-reaching plot arcs).

That being said, I'm psyched for it to start up again (and ridiculously impatient too).

...

Yesterday I watched WALL·E

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...lleposter2.jpg

And. Wow.

Beautiful. Stunning. Touching.

To tell you the truth, when I heard that there was minimal writing and voicework, I was concerned that I'd be bored... But far from it.

I fully agree with The Penguin:

good movie, part insight into Van Damme's current life struggles, part dog day afternoon.

My Name Is Bruce

Great stuff with some really funny moments. A hell of a lot better than The Man With The Screaming Brain. Bruce did a great job poking fun at himself for our entertainment :D

For A Few Dollars More

On a bit of a western kick at the moment and I've always really dug this one so it was good to revisit it.
