Yup, I thought the bottle/corkscrew/gun 4 way scene was fucking intense...great mixture of elements in the film, and the comedy in no way fucked up the horror, it was great....my favourite dvd.

Not the LAST film I've seen, but just before it....I saw a Japanese dvd I got off ebay called "tales of the unusual", it works kinda like creepshow, but not really...there's four stories told, each of them turn into completely different kinds of "mini-films", one psychological horror, one sci-fi/romance, one "what the fuck?" and one comedy/sci-fi...but all very watchable, interesting films...I'd reccomend it to anybody. I got my copy for $12AUD, well worth it.

Urgeok, I haven't seen totoro, or castle in the sky...
I'll look out for those.
I was just wondering, your suggestion reminded me of the name of another manga type movie...an old one...has anyone here seen "the casle of cagliostro"? I myself, have not. What I have seen of it looks excellent...apparently it belongs to a series of films starring this "Lupin" character....any information on these films would be helpful.

I thought it was going to be a all out comedy like scary movie but you're right they mixed it very well and the two genres don't conflict with each other.

If you liked shaun, apparently the writers and actors from that will be involved in two more films thus far...not much info on either, ones called "Dave of the triffids" (Day of the triffids was a pretty old film about hmmm...big man eating plants?), and one currently being called flight of the dead, about zombies...on a plane.
I'll be looking out for those with great interest.

Co-wrote it with the Director.
They also worked on the excellent Brit sitcom "Spaced".

Two.
Both a film geeks dream. Funny as an independent comedy with some great charcters (and acting) and also funny as a homage/in-joke filled fan work.

Very nice DVD's as well. Lots of extras and excellent comm tracks on ALL episodes.

VERY nice package that, it has a few more extras than the individual releases.
