Trick 'r Treat

Holy crap!!!

I caught this last night at the opening night of Screamfest at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood and it was awesome! It captures the unbridled joy of Halloween with good scares, really good laughs, great stories and absolutely amazing art direction. The film drips with Halloweenie goodness. Sam is a new Halloween icon. This film should be viewed every year - too bad it will never be released properly - just because a few kids die... all right a LOT of kids die, but that's what makes it fun. If the kids were teens, the impact would be diluted and made to feel tired and lame.

It's screening in NYC next week. Anyone in the area needs to find thier way to the theater to see this piece of awesomeness.

9/10

Son of Rambow ... not at all what i expected - great movie

Dance of the Dead 5/10

Pretty much what you would expect from a low budget b movie.

The_Return 10-11-2008 09:25 PM

Final Destination 2

I'm torn on this movie...the first one had one of the best scripts that I've ever seen for a slasher movie, and on that front this was a HUGE letdown. The plot was full of holes, the characters were boring and the whole things just seemed like a last minute excuse to tie together a bunch of set pieces.

BUT - holy crap, what AWESOME set pieces they were! This movie had some of the coolest, most original kills that I've ever seen - and the pile-up scene was just a masterpiece of controlled chaos.

So I guess it just depends what kind of mood you're in...I really enjoyed it, but had I been looking for something "good" I would have been sorely let down.

Good To See You Again, Alice Cooper

I fuckin' love 70s Alice Cooper, great concert and one of the best rock n roll films period.

Gotta track that down - the only Cooper DVD I've seen is Welcome to My Nightmare (which is pretty badass).

Seeing him live again next weekend - fuckin' pumped:cool:

Babylon A.D. (2008)

Though the plot was little bit interesting but they wasted it.

see, i thought the 1st one was watered down pg kiddie horror - that failed to deliver.

the second one was awsome... the freeway scene alone was one of the best things i've seen in a horror flick ..

easily the best of the 3 as far as i'm concerned..

Foot Fist Way

lord i don't know if anyone else will find this as funny as i did - but i was howling.

it helps that i've had a pretty intense exposure to Tae Kwon Do in the last 6 months ...

the film is about a Tae Kwon Do instructor who starts losing his mind when his wife cheats on him .. funny as hell.

I was suprised at how much I dug that one myself. My girlfriend at the time hired it and it looked pretty weak like one of those countless gothteen flicks at the time but it ended up turning into a pretty fuckin' cool flick. I've got The Woods but haven't given it a spin yet. His Masters Of Horror episode is worth checking out to if you haven't already.

Howard the Duck..

my son loved it..

then i fell asleep during speed racer. the effects/sets are kind of interesting at first - but then it quickly becomes sensory overload. Christina Ricci was cute as hell though.

Young Frankenstein

I almost died laughing at the part with the blind man.

Love that movie.

Last watched - The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. One of my childhood favorites.

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer ~ not what I was expecting, but I actually really liked it. I would love to read the book.

'Salem's Lot (2004) ~ started out okay, then was almost good at times..... then got really, really weak. Too bad, I liked some of the cast.

The Ferryman ~ just okay, nothing special.

and also....
Fright Night
In the Mouth of Madness

Yeah, John Cusack rules.

Watching Forrest Gump on tv right now.

SamCostello 10-13-2008 11:44 AM

Dressed to Kill – Brian de Palma doing a kind of giallo. Not a great movie, really, but I wonder if any of his 70s movies seem very good anymore (maybe Carrie?).

Sam

Last Seen Movie

A friend of mine suggested me to watch a horror movie named “Evil Dead Part-3”. Then I bought this movie from the market. This is also my last seen horror movie. I am very much scared while watching this movie. I hope many people are familiar with this name.

Crystal Meth

James White

Dante'sInferno 10-13-2008 03:15 PM

George Carlin-Doin It Again

He makes so many good points.I loved it.:D

Elvis_Christ 10-13-2008 03:41 PM

Pet Sematary II

This was good fun even tho it loses its way towards the end. Clancy Brown always plays the part of a real prick extremely well (life reflecting art perhaps?). Great soundtrack to I liked the creepy rockabilly score and the L7 and Ramones tunes.

Dressed To Kill is still amazing IMO and is one of my favorite films.

ChainStalker 10-13-2008 07:24 PM

Deranged - Roberts Blossom puts on a great performance. Goofy narrator is iffy.

Fright Night - One of my fav vampire flicks

Nella 10-13-2008 08:57 PM

Irreversible, unfortunately. Right before that, I watched Awake.

Roberts Blossom is one of my favorite actors. I'll even watch Home Alone just to see him.

neverending 10-13-2008 10:01 PM

Vicious.

There is no reason to watch this movie. There is not a single original shot, line of dialogue or situation in the entire film. The special effects are lame. Acting is lackluster.

It's just a mediocre waste of time.

novakru 10-13-2008 11:06 PM

Moon Child- awful

Verses- awful

The Fall-stunning
