All the swans albums I have heard are chaotic and experimental, some amazeing stuff,

Are we talking the same swans?

As far as I know, there's only one Swans. In their early period (specifically, the albums Cop, Young God, Greed, Holy Money, Filth, and Body to Body, Job to Job) they really were very experimental. After this, they changed into a sort of gothic/apocalyptic folk band. This period is, in my opinion, the best of the band. Check out The Burning World, Children of God, White Light From the Mouth of Infinity, and The Great Annihilator. Some simply incredible music. Michael Gira's new band, the Angels of Light, has continued in pretty much the same vein.
