I can't believe it's being remade though.

i dont have a problem with this being remade.. and i do love the origional.

i'd be interested to see what a new genreation does with it - and who would be cast.

i just hope they dont fall into the stupid trend of trying to come up with new songs.

please no Adam Sandler...please no Adam Sandler...please no Adam Sandler

I wouldn't mind seeing Tim Burton do this one....with Johnny Depp as Frank-N-Furter

@ neverending,i agree also.

I would too,i just hope they don't and i mean the kids, say the original sucks because its old and not even give that one a chance. No matter how good or horrible the new one is.Which is what some will do.But some will see it for the first time and be like that is an amazing movie and i mean the original. The remake might be good though.Im going to try and have an open mind about remakes for once. The movie didnt do anything to anyone, its the creators that tarnished the legacy, even though we still have the old one.I'm going to try and give remakes a chance though, and look at them as their own movies, and try not to go in there(immerse myslf in it,thats what i do) and hate it automaticlly.I know that's what some people will do,but that's up to them, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.I wish they wouldnt bash the remake though, even though they didnt even see it.It's wrong to have that much hate over something and just take it for what it is.Dont get pissed off about it,watch the original or spend some time with your family or do what you love, because that level of hate aobut anything is unessacary.

neverending 09-11-2008 07:08 PM

Well, it's being produced by MTV- so you can forget your fantasies about Burton & Depp.

Kanye West, maybe?

And there WILL be new songs.

Well, me and the wife sat down to watch Cloverfield and about a good 20-25 minutes into it (the Brooklyn Bridge-crossing scene), she said that it was too loud, and wanted to see a more mellowed-down movie.

Naturally, I gave her a blast...sheesh, anyway she agreed to give it another shot soon, so instead we sat down again and watched this :

There's Something About Mary.

Still as good as the last time I saw it...some of the scenes very outrageous, and very funny. Although some gags pushed the limits, overall there's something about this movie which makes you like it a lot, whoever you may be.

Rating - * * * ½

Deathwatch (2002)

A tale of the supernatural and madness set in a German bunker during WWI.

Really good. I recommend it.

The Party Animal

a terrible terrible movie i like.
it's not funny but it's fill of naked 80's girls and the best soundtrack ever.

First time I saw it on a camera print:o ! But last week we got a fair dvd copy of it available here with a tag of "Property of Warner Bros." that appears quite frequently on the bottom of the screen!

Hellraiser: Prophecy

A little slow, and a lot boring. The acting is awful, but eh, it was worth the twenty one minutes to say I've seen it.

The Magnificent Seven

i had never seen it in its entirety, it was really slow except for the final gun battle.
I was totally stoked with the end. i really wish the film had more action, with an all star cast like it had, it would have been perfect.

Burn After Reading (2008)

Good.

Righteous Kill (2008)

Bad.

The Wicker Man (European Cut) (1973)

Timeless.

Basket Case (1982)

Fun.

that's really a shame. I sort of knew in the back of my head that would be the outcome, though.

I really, really, really wanted to like it. I've been looking forward to it for a year. But it's really lame.

4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days

I dont see how anyone could really enjoy this movie...it's certainly well made and VERY well acted, but to call it depressing would be an injustice to just how grim this movie is.

For all the brutal, gory, violent and depraved horror movies I've seen, I can't think of a single moment more disturbing than a certain prolonged shot in this film (I wont spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but if you have you know exactly what I'm talking about).

It's not a pleasant movie...but it is supremely affecting.

Mr. Deeds Goes to Town

Had to offset that last one with something a little bit happier - and what better than a Frank Capra flick?

I saw the Adam Sandler version when it first came out, totally unaware it was a remake (I was 11 at the time, give me a break). Needless to say, this version puts Sandler in his place.

Gary Cooper was utterly spectacular. This is the only movie that I've seen him in, but he stole the show from beginning to end. Easily one of the greatest performances that I've ever sen in a comedy, bar none.

Capra movies ALWAYS put me in a good mood, and this is one of his best that I've seen so far :)

Despare 09-13-2008 01:09 PM

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II
Postal (This one was pretty bad but kept looking like it was going to hit its stride... I don't recommend it.)

yeah..that was horrifying indeed in a true manner! It's a film without any 'cinematic' consequences but harsh & depressing reality.

Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday The 13th

Long title aside, this movie was awful. I thought the Scary Movie franchise was funny, so I picked this up thinking it may be as well. Turns out, this is a spoof of Scary Movie, spoofing Scream/I Know What You Did Last Summer.

I caught 10 minutes of this on comedy central or sci fi about 7 years ago, and the title alone pissed me off. I turned the channel after about 10 minutes i was so fucking angry that someone with money thought it was a good enough movie to produce.

It was pathetic. And I know a lot of people here will disagree with me about Scary Movie being funny, but at least it was entertaining. This one was boring as hell.

burn after reading (2008)
