I got my copy from amazon.co.uk, for about GBP 7.50 + shipping. However, looking at the site tonight, it seems to have gone up in price again to 12.50. |

Alexander - Director's Cut - I'm not sure why everyone hated this movie so much. Granted, it's like a 3 hour long, big budget big name History Channel documentary. With violence and boobs. Which I like.
Others: Kingdom of Heaven - 2-disc SE House of 9 Dominion: Prequal to the Exorcist |

dont they have used dvd places around you ? you should be able to get these older titles for a fraction of the price |

Other than that there's only 1 used DVD store that I can think of, and it's not on my side of town, which means I have no way of getting there on my own, which mean I very rarely go there. There used to be a great one about 5 minutes walk from my house, but they closed about 2 years ago. I got alot of good stuff there...Suspiria on VHS for $2 being the best purcashe I can recall:) Anyway, I staryed from Blockbuster's used bins and bought some new stuff today. Not quite the spree that I was planning, but Im still happy with it and it didnt hurt the ol' bank account too much: -Bubba Ho-Tep -Batman Begins -House of Wax [2005] The first 2 are great movies that Ive been wanting to get for awhile now, and the last one...well, Ive been wanting to see it. Ive heared plenty of bad things, but I still think it looks half-decent... |

its been quite a month ... this guy goes out of business where i've been buying lasers from (and gave me some unbelievable deals) then my favorite uded DVD place closes ... (i didnt even post the last 40 movies i got on a 1/2 price sale at this place) and another friend who sells lasers on ebay has quit due to lack of market. i have been having a big last hurrah this month .. after this it'll be pretty dry until the Festival of horror where i save up for some cool shit :) |
Whoa! took me 5 mins to just read that urge...
you thinking of setting up a new movie shop or somethin? maybe affiliate to Blockbuster :D some of those titles are really cool...Maggie Reilly...is that her collection of albums with "Echoes" in it? Lawnmower Man with SK references removed? hmm... you shouldnt complain about the Janet Jackson one...if its got a video of her boob popping out...:p The Chamber, Head Hunter, Lock Up...yes its quite a nice list... You ll love Mafia on the X-Box its a blast... Look in the posters for The Shining...I love that wicked looking Jack Nicholson one...:D or maybe 2001: A Space Odyssey...that is one awesome poster, if you got it... |

i had to check back and see if i made a typo .. mary reilly (not maggie) its the movie where she's the lover or housekeeper (i cant remember) of dr Hyde (and mr Jekyl) re. lawnmower man .. the origional release made reference to the short story written by S. King but he had them take it off on subsequent releases .. (they applied a thin strip of coloured sticker over top of wherever his name appeared. re janet jackson - this is pre-boob .. looks older to me (when she still had the babyfat) either way - her music sucks about as bad as 'music' could suck. re. the posters .. no shining/no 2001 .. there were some cool ones though ... oddly enough 2 releases of Star Wars Empire Strikes back .. and i say odd because i already had them ... just those 2. there is also a poster of battlefield earth signed by the director ... that must be worth 2 cents. |

cool ... hand onto them for a bit .. i owe a million movies to all kinds of people (zwoti - newb - I havent forgotten you guys) but i havent done anything but sort books for the last month. Today I'm going to try a garage-book sale but it's calling for rain .. i still might have a go at it until i see it coming down but with books it's a dicey gamble. either way i'll be rid of all the damn books within the next 2 weeks ..and i'll finally free up some time to start burning people some movies. |
I went and grabbed a buncha DVDs yesterday :-
The Outsiders...no clue bout this one but looks good from the cover American Graffiti Collector's Edition...I ve heard a lot bout this one, esp Harrison Ford as a driver? Dirty Dancing Ultimate Edition...I just HAD TO have this one... Back to the Future...Complete Trilogy Widescreen Edition Beast From Haunted Cave...no idea whatsoever...the cover looks good with the monster though... The Brides of Dracula The Evil of Frankenstein...both widescreen ones... |
!!!
The Outsider's is a CLASSIC! We are forced to read it in High School >_<. The movie features a bunch of today's well known actors before they made it big. |
The Brood (1979)
I picked this up in a Wal-Mart $5.50 bin. Is it any good? |
Yeah, I liked that one. It's pretty creepy.
|
Hollywood Video (Maybe all of them, but for sure the one in Cottage Grove, Minnesota) is having a VHS Clearance sale! 5 movies for $15 bucks!!! Not only were the movies $3 each, but the sale must have just started so the shelves were pretty full still. Score!
I only had a $20 on me so I just grabbed 5 today, but I'm goin back tomorrow to clean them out. Today I got.... The Eye Black Christmas Darkman 2 Darkman 3 The Hobbit (Cartoon) all for $15! Sweeeeeet. |

I've been tryin to get my hands on The Eye for months now and here I found it to own for $3. I almost cracked a woody.
P.S. Darkman is awesome. |
^^ yeh there was a bunch of great sales on like that over here for awhile. Most stores have purged all their VHS over here and everything is only released on DVD. Picked up some great shit in those sales!
DVD: War of the Colossal Beast had to exchange it for the Reefer Madness DVD I got the other day because it was all fucked up. I love how there's a shitload of Monster Mash kinda flicks for dirt cheap on DVD. |
I just bought Neil Gaiman's MirrorMask. Any of you guys seen it? I've heard it compared to Labyrinth.
