Ah, Disease. I'm awfully jealous of you. I'd absolutely love a (drinking) trip to Belgium.

That Duvel is pretty spectacular.

Im not the greatest ale drinker but I do like the odd drop every now and again.

Ive spent a couple of days in Gloucestershire and found this brew (strange really as its made exclusively in North Yorkshire). At first its got a fruity taste but then it develops a pleasant, mild hops taste.

Ive always found with most of these types of ales that the aftertaste builds up as you drink and it starts to become unpleasant but thats not the case with Black Sheep. Certainly worth a go if you can get your hands on it.

I haven't tried that one, but they do sell it over the road, I might as well give it a go.

Me too! They're a great brewery. I haven't had anything by them yet that I didn't really enjoy, although I've only had three of their brews. I haven't had the Quatre-Centième, unfortunately. It's another Belgian pale strong ale, right? I've had La Fin Du Monde, Trois Pistoles, and Maudite.

Yeah, I usually don't like pale ales or anything over 9% (Quatre-Centieme like 12% i think), but for this one I make an exception. It's really tasty, just don't plan on driving anywhere afterwards. :p I can't remember if I've had the Trois Pistoles, but the Maudite I find a little too peppery/spicey for me. Have you had the Ephemere? It's the apple one, it's quite nice.

@ Angra
I was talking about the Leffe Blonde. I didn't realize they made other kinds, are the other ones good?

Yes, they're all good. But Blond is the best.

Excellent. Hopefully I can track it down over here.

Wow, 12% is pretty rough.
I haven't tried any of the Ephemeres either. It's hard to find anything around here other than those three main brews.
If I see any of those, though, I'll absolutely be picking them up.

Don't drink hard stuff much anymore, but when I do, it's Irish whiskey

That's because Blondes have more fun. :p
