Amelie, Mulholland Dr, Eraserhead, the Pedro Almodovar library, 8 1/2, Psycho, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance ftw. Though there were those early days where House of 1000 Corpses, and The Hills Have Eyes were on my list... |

2001 Maniacs
One of the better "remakes" I've seen lately, actually gives me higher hopes for Wizard of Gore. Granted it wasn't the best horror flick ever but it was definitely worth a watch, even if they did replace some of my favorite "games". |
Dark City (1998)
A pretty good sci Fi thriller. >>: B+ |
The Eye (remake).
It wasn't as good as the original but still watchable. Jessica Alba performed competently. |
Throw Mama from the train
I hadn't seen this for years, It still made me laugh... OWWWWWWen! 7.5/10 |
The Exorcist

The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor.
Taking out plenty of leafs from pt. II, as regarding the CGI (including the repeated CGI army), and a non-existent atmospheric storyline...at least Imhotep made the first 2 movies eminently watchable. Fraser & son's one-liners and quips have worn quite thin, Michelle Yeoh and Jet Li are competent, and the only saving grace - Maria Bello as Eve, does a splendid job and scores one over Rachel Weisz. This one is bad...and I dont mean cheesy either. Found myself not caring about this one at all when the end credits rolled. Rating - * * |
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

The Pool (2002)

"American zombie" 1/10
God, i'm really sick and tired of this pretentious horror-docu trend obviously inspired by Blair witch project. I guess a lot of directors think it's a smart way to disguise a low budget. I've never appreciated it. |
V for Vendetta.
Picked it up for $5 so i thought i'd revisit it for the 1st time since seeing it in the theatre. still an excellent film. |
Heat
The Wicker Man ('73) |
Meatball machine
6.5/10 |
"Fletch lives" 7-8/10
Chevy Chase's funniest performance and best movie ever, imho. |
Blow Out
I've always really liked this film especially how dark the ending is. |

Hear, hear. The ending is quite shocking actually. |
Ninja Scroll
I'm not a HUGE fan of anime, but once in awhile I really enjoy it. The plot wasn't much, but Jubei was badass and the fights were insane. Cool movie. |

That man has close to no acting skills whatsoever. He very much plays the same character in all the movies he's been involved in. The two "Fletch" movies are the exceptions. The movies where HE is actually funny and not just the things happening around him. |

The Last Winter – An environmental horror movie from Larry Fessenden, who did Habit and Wendigo. Some interesting moments, but ultimately a little unsatisfying and under-realized.

If I ever get to make a comedy... I am definitely trying to fit Chevy in there.. |

The Hamiltons. one of the 2006 8 films to die for. My boyfriend's little sister rented it and thought it was boring as hell, handed it over to me to watch. I loooved it. Slow paced but beautiful in it's own right. The characters were all well written and well acted. Played off the disfunctional family theme very well with a nice twist. Minimal gore. I suggest you give it a watch if you haven't already.

Batman: The Movie (1966)
Ok, fuck The Dark Knight. This is the ultimate Batman movie. ...jokes aside, I really did enjoy every second of this. I grew up watching reruns of the Adam West TV series, so on top of just being flat-out awesome, it was a bit nostalgic, haha. Some choice lines: "Just because they're drinkers doesn't mean that they aren't human beings Robin!" "Some days, you just can't get rid of a bomb!" My personal favourite - this is when they're trying to decide who was behind a dastardly attack on the Dynamic Duo: Commissioner Gordon: It could be any one of them... But which one? Which ones? Batman: Pretty *fishy* what happened to me on that ladder... Commissioner Gordon: You mean where there's a fish there could be a penguin? Robin: But wait! It happened at sea... Sea. C for Catwoman! Batman: Yet, an exploding shark *was* pulling my leg... Commissioner Gordon: The Joker! Chief O'Hara: All adds up to a sinister riddle... Riddle-R. Riddler! Commissioner Gordon: A thought strikes me... So dreadful I scarcely dare give it utterance... Batman: The four of them... Their forces combined... Robin: Holy nightmare! Hilarious movie...just damn good fun all around! :D |

soooo many ridiculous scenes in that movie. another favorite of mine is the "fight" between batman and the shark. after punching the shark repeatedly in the face (producing a suspicious hollow rubbery sound), batman calls for his trusty "shark repellent," which robin feels he must deliver with an incredibly impractical acrobatic maneuver (involving hanging upside down on the ladder, holding on with only his legs). the "shark repellent," once sprayed in the face of the diabolical shark, sends it crashing back into the water upon which it explodes...cause there's a bomb in it or something. classic. ------------------------------------------- speaking of batman, i just watched the dark knight for the second time. still f'ing great. |
Pineapple express.
I think it's this crowds best film so far. More an action focus than comedy, but there's plenty of both. Good watch. |
