I disagree slightly. It would've been horrid without the twist. I'd give it a 4.5/10. Worth one rent maybe, but at least an attempted viewing.

An American Werewolf in London

Hadn't seen this in a while. Can't wait to see The Wolf Man. Here's hoping it can revive the werewolf flick.

"Lost boys 2 - the tribe" 5/10

Is it just me being cruel or does Corey Feldman and Corey Haim look like former junkies? There's just something about their faces that... doesn't look healthy.

Iron-Man.
I was impressed by the visuals. It is a film to be watched on the big-screen for sure.

after watching an south park episode recently major boobage, just watched Heavy Metal...What a messed up movie, not sure what to say about that movie...good soundtrack

After Sundown - cheap ass vampire/zombie flick

i'm tired of the 'really good for a no-budget' movies.
These guys aren't my friends or family - i have no emotional tie in with them - i just want to watch a good fucking movie - not the student film efforts.

lead actress was pretty decent though.

The Breakup - great movie. terrific cast - Vince Vaughn at the top of his game - and i'll go on record as saying again - not only is
Jennifer Aniston one of the most stunningly beautiful women in hollywood - she's also a damn fine actor. she should be doing 100X the business that angelina jolie is doing - she's so much better.

but .. i guess people prefer stupid predictable action films to thoughtful comedies these days.

i watched it immediately again with the Vaughn, Aniston commentary ...
Vince did most of the talking but he was very informative ... i'll be looking for more of his commentary work.

I remember watching that one with my wife, and when he's yelling at the kid on XBox Live my wife just looked over at me... very funny moment for us. Jennifer is such a better actress and SOOO much hotter than Jolie IMO.

The Dark Knight- 12/10

It really sticks with me, the way they leave the Joker. It's flawless.

The Mummy - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (or whatever it's called)

well, it's the best of the 3 - not that that's saying much. Tried really damn hard to be raiders of the lost ark. anyway - it was better than i expected.

The Tripper.. directed by Courtney Cox's Man friend David Arquette and I thought i was actually pretty fucking good..

He did some pretty decent drug use scenes.. He has good reasons why people branched off alone..

His rednecks were hilarious and his Killer was decent..

all in all

Rambo 3 and Rambo 4

Pretty brutal shit, good times.

The Mothman 08-03-2008 09:43 PM

I havnt seen Rambo III, but ive heard its not very good, but you say its brutal, it cant possibly compare to the new one, right?

Escape from New York

Noah 08-03-2008 10:41 PM

It doesnt, none of the other Rambo's compare to the 4th one. Though there is PLENTY of action in part 3, and a REALLY cool exploding/hanging death in it too.

I liked it a lot, better than Part 2 even. I'd rank the Rambo's like this:

1. First Blood
2. Rambo
3. Rambo 3
4. Rambo: First Blood Part 2

Superman: Doomsday (2007)

Vodstok 08-04-2008 05:19 AM

30 Days Of Night. My expectations were a little low since most people said it dragged bad in the middle, but I liked it quite a bit.I could have used a more final ending, but I dont know how the graphic novel ended, so I will reserve my judgment until I read it (my library has it)

I didnt think the middle dragged, i thought there was good tension, and how boring is 2 brutal decapitations? (one of a little girl, cmon!)

urgeok2 08-04-2008 06:03 AM

Jack the Giant Killer (1962) ... good fun in the Sinbad vein ..

Hatchet - thought this one was fun as well.

Balls of Fury

I had REALLY low expectations and it barely rose above them. I did laugh a bit though and it was an ok time waster while we were waiting for the steak to finish cooking.

You laughed at the ping-pong against the old mans face in the beginning, right? ;) Quite original.

That was my biggest laugh in that movie.

I felt that a better/funnier lead actor could have done Balls Of Fury a lot of good. Oh, and i was VERY disappointet about the tournament which should have been a MUCH bigger part of the story. Just like Bloodsport, but with small balls. lol And he never get to play against the evil german. MAJOR bummer!!

There were a few other parts too. Lopez made me laugh even and I don't find him funny at ALL. When the lead guy asked if he was being arrested because of the heart attack and Lopez says "I thought that was part of the show. Until the ambulance showed up I was laughing my ass off." I have to admit I chuckled. Like you said though, the ping pong tourney didn't even really exist, it was a complete disappointment.
