Lets take the movie the Omen which I like a great deal imagine if the big spearlike pole that kills the priest didnt show the pole go into him lets say the scene was you see the pole fall to the priest you dont see it touch him but you see him leaning next to the pole dead. If that would have been scene I am sure you would have felt jipped because you would not have seen the pole penitrate his body. So when I see Leatherface not hacking off body parts in TCm and just making motions I feel jipped to me that is not horror. Hey I could put on a mask get a chainsaw make motions as though i am hacking up a body without touching it and that would not be scary at all. I say make movies like Dr. Phibes where you see people get killed and it looks real or the Omen or movies along those lines.
It was originally titled Headcheese. Would you prefer that?

Gojira 01-26-2005 11:02 AM

LOL are you talking about TCM headcheese LOL well at least had they gone with that title you would have expected some comedy.

hoRRoRfanatiC 01-26-2005 03:44 PM

no order:

~seed of chucky
~scream 2
~TCSM(remake)
~darkness
~butterfly effect
(WHO THE HELL KNEW IT WAS UNDER "scifi/horror"?!?!)

Michaels Shape 01-26-2005 04:37 PM

Again...None of the classics, you cant call yourself a horror fan.

hoRRoRfanatiC 01-26-2005 05:00 PM

im just listing the ones that come to mind the quickest, classic horror movies have a tendency to suck less. @ least the originals.

Gojira 01-26-2005 06:07 PM

Well if you mean classics that were made in the 50s & 60s then I agree those movies still rock and suck less.

filmmaker2 01-26-2005 10:37 PM

Okay, ass-sucking horror flicks? I know a few. Hell, I was watching "The Creeping Terror" back in 1979. So (ahem), yeah, I do know this territory a little bit. Okay, here's my stupid list.

1. DUMB HELSING
2. CREEPING TERROR
3. MANOS: HANDS OF FATE
4. THE SEA SERPENT
5. DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN

However, I enjoy watching all these movies, except for DUMB HELSING.

EXTR3MIST 01-28-2005 01:22 PM

Hi Gojira - you're starting to make sense now.

I too have been jipped many, many times; when I hired The Shining expecting two and a half hours of Jack Nicholson cleaning his bathroom surfaces, I got some cack about extra-sensory perception and lots of snow.

So I tried again with Pitch Black - expecting to witness a night-time soccer game during floodlight failure - and got some yarn about alien creatures fighting some bloke called Riddick.

Finally, after wasting another £4 on renting The Blair Witch Project only to see no witches OR British Prime Ministers in it, I gave up.

Now I only watch films that do exactly what it says on the tin, like the brilliant Let's Hack Joey's Arms & Legs Off Part 6: The Decapitation Diaries - I tell you, you gotta see them slicing that guy's limbs off man... awesome!

same thing i've been trying to get across to him but i think it's hopeless.

ClassicHorror 01-28-2005 07:46 PM

I can't believe someone would hate a film just because of its title. Who cares if its called Texas Chainsaw Massacre! Its what inside the film that counts, you think its dull because you don't watch it with an open mind, I thought the beggining was perfect. Showing parts of a body while it shows a shot of the red sun with the title flashing on. ITS A HORROR FILM THAT GETS YOU MENTALLY, NOT SEEING THE MASSACRE MAKES YOU MAKE UP WHAT HAPPEND, THIS IS A WONDERFUL THING LOTS OF DIRECTORS DO. A cliche in horror films is exposing everything in front of you off the bat.

Tecas Chainsaw Massacre is supposed to have a realistic feeling to it, Tobe Hooper is a realistic style director. If you saw a girl getting hacked up it wouldn't be that realistic, it was different and it was gold, it changed the landmark of horror, and I LOVE IT TILL THE DAY I DIE. Thats the end of it.

Gojira 01-28-2005 08:39 PM

Classic the people who post on this horror movie site post how they feel about movies. Some movies they like some they dont. You shouldnt take these posts personal I dont. I like to read how other fans feel about movies and why. I like to read about fans who know alot about horror movies.

Bah, whoever didnt like Friday the 13th 5 is weird as. Me and my friend saw it 2 nights ago and we thought it was brilliant! I don't see how you could dislike it, and I mean how cool is it when that guy at the start hacks into the fat kids back with an axe just for being cool as! haha. great film but...here's my worst 5 -
1. House of the dead...Oh god that was pathetically pathetic!
2.Summer of fear...Never seen it listed yet, still wondering why. it was gay as, i feel bad for wes craven for making it. he must of got a lot of knee deep shit.
3. Faust...Fuck, this movie shouldn't be R, it loses it's plot after a half hour, and I fell asleep. Shit man, that sucked Ass!
4. Friday the 13th V. It wasn't good...at all, as was number 2.
5. TCM (2003) that was pretty pathetic, I could definately find worse, but i cant be fuckered. The only good bit that me and my friend decided other than the great chainsaw chases was when it rained and you could see Jessica Biels Tits. *sigh* good times. Catch, Ell voorhees.

Gojira 01-31-2005 11:42 PM

I agree any horror movie that has eye candy cant be that bad.

Nemesis412 02-01-2005 05:19 PM

I am a Halloween Fan forever but I love the jason movie. I hated part 7 though. Thats it i loved all the others

When I said that made a mistake. I said friday the 13th V was shit, I meant Nightmare on elm St. 5, yeh, sorry.

slasherman 02-02-2005 01:31 AM

"May" a wannabe with terrible acting....and its trying to be funny but its not...:(

psychokiller 04-15-2005 04:36 PM

my bottom 5 is as follows
5: friday the 13th 8: what is thier to say! it sucked balls!
4: nightmare on elm street 2: i am a huge fan of the nightmare series so thats why i ran back to the video store demanding a refund after watching this lump of shit! it's amazing that they made sequals after this!
3: fear.com, need there be a comment!
2: jason X, jason+space+bad script+ bad acting= #2 on my worst movies list!
1: jack frost, sot realy even a horror movie (the PG childrens version was much scarier!)

Elvis_Christ 04-15-2005 10:40 PM

I liked Nightmare on Elm St 2 its a lot better than parts 4,5 and 6. Freddy still had a nasty edge and wasn't as cheesey as he became later on in the series. Wes Craven's New Nightmare and Freddy vs Jason have brought the series back on track in my opinon.

dev!ls advocate 04-16-2005 03:37 PM

man i know im gunna catch flak on this but still;

The Worst 5 Horror Movies ( In My Opinion )

1) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Remake - OVERRATED!! ( bitch all you want, the movie wasnt good, it just wasnt scary.)

2) Secret Window - HORRIBLE movie, Johnny Depp should stick to being a pirate

3) The Village - He just should have stopped at Signs ( M. Night Shamalan... or something...)

4) Jason X - Aside from freezing the girls head in frozen Co2, they killed the series

5) Bride of Chucky - Single handedly DESTROYED Chucky's scare level

The BEST 5 Horror Movies ( Again, In MY Opinion )

1) Saw - GREATEST MOVIE EVER, the ending was the best of any horror movie I have ever seen, and trust me, I've seen a lot

2) Seven - Freeeeeeaky movie

3) Exorcist - Original - When the religious right say "The Devil Himself Was On This Film" it's gotta be good

4) The Ring - Mad props, one of the best in years

5) Ringu - The original "The Ring" Japenese horror movies are really really scary

And there you have it folks, the 5 worst, and greatest horror movies i have ever seen... take it from me, the top 5 worst, are really really bad

crippler666 04-16-2005 09:53 PM

The Shit Films
1) The Edge Of Hell
2) 666 Demon Child
3) The Village
4) The Blair Witch
5) Catacombs

The Reasons
1) The Edge Of Hell - Green rubber starfish and a pop-up head on Satan
2) 666 Demon Child - This is just crap... of the highest calibre
3) The Village - How can a film starting off so promising, finish so crap
4) The Blair Witch - The Film Is Real (lies), The Actors Are Missing (more lies), It Was Based On Real Events (stop it now)
5) Catacombs - I can forgive crap visuals if the story was good, but no matter how psychic you are, you cannot scratch a wall, and the wound appear on someones face

dev!ls advocate 04-17-2005 01:34 PM

i totally forgot about the blair witch project, that movie blew too

crazy raplh 04-18-2005 04:58 AM

The Mothman 04-18-2005 09:19 AM

IDMb suggests that Battlefield Earth is the worst movie ever made.

urgeok 04-18-2005 02:14 PM

i have never seen the worst horror movies ever made - well, maybe a few .. but they are back yard amateur junk that are beneath bashing.

here's my personal list of 5 movies i thought sucked shit - on my all time hate list because they were made in a time where film makers are supposed to know better.

1) The Village the all time worst. It was an insult.
2) Resident Evil 2. Made for 14 year old boys.
3) House of the Dead. fucking stupid.
4) Secret Window. Set a new standard for predictability.
5) Jason X. unenjoyable .. even as corn.

RE2 is the only movie i dont own.
I think i'll get it and place all 5 - along with a copy of Dirty Dancing - on a special shelf of their own. Sort of a 'what not to do if you want to make a movie' manual.

slasherman 04-18-2005 02:18 PM

hmm when people says Jason X. is one of the worst movies...they pretty much say its the worst in the series...but its not...
3, 5 and 8 are worse :(

the older ones werent exactly shooting for the stars (pardon the pun)

they were just kids in the woods getting killed.
I expected Jason X to somehow be smarter.

there was no point in putting that film in the future .. everyone was just as stupid as ever ..

bwind22 04-18-2005 05:23 PM

1-House of the Dead ~ Ugh.
2-The Ring ~ The makers are of The RIng are the only people who should be happy House of the Dead exists! I despised this movie!
3-Club Dread ~ They killed off the funniest character 10 minutes in and the movie proceeded to suck from there.
4-Phantasm ~ Fuck Reg.
5-Scream 2 ~ I really liked this franchise until I saw Scream 2! (Same with the Matrix series.)

ItsAlive75 04-18-2005 07:49 PM

5. The Howling 3- Too silly.
4. Fear Dot Com- No scares, bad acting, ridiculous ending
3. Darkness Falls- I saw little girls laughing in the theatre
2. Unbreakable- If I wanted to see Samuel L Jackson fall down a flight of stairs, I'd push him
1. House of the Dead- Yeah. Yeah, just bad.

ChEEbA 04-18-2005 09:02 PM

5. The Howling 3- Too silly.
- was that "The FAAAAARKIN' marsupials", maaaate?
Can't say I much liked ANY of those ones, 'cept for the first one.

2. Unbreakable
- Can't agree with this being defined as any kind of horror m'self, I enjoyed it, in that I personally found the thought of what "mr glass" had done in order to acheive results really fucking twisted, the handshake (and the fall haha) made the film IMO.

COMPLETELY agree on feardotcomm, the other two don't look interesting enough to even bother with.

chrissy01 04-19-2005 01:30 AM

Crap horror movies

Worst horrors i've seen and my cousin agrees.

1. Exorcist the beginning-crap from from beginning to end.
2. Horror in the attic
3. Undead-so ver very awful
4. Cubbyhouse-crappy aussie horror
5. CUT- SHIT SHIT SHIT

Cya

how do you figure this was overrated ?
i'm one of the only people i know that liked it ... almost everyone else trashed the hell out of it ..

First of all, Horror Spooky...are you gay? What kind of a true horror fan wants to see Jason gets his ass kicked? Do you not enjoy watching him massacre the hell out of people? That is what horror movies are about, and it usually pisses me off when the humans actually manage to beat the horror villians. *COUGH, COUGH,ALIENVSPREDATOR,COUGH*
Also, I forget who said they didn't, but I actually enjoyed Freddy Vs. Jason. I mean, it wasn't exactly like old times, but wasn't it kind of fun watching our old favorites whoop the shit out of eachother? The only part I hated was, again, how the fucking humans had to try to be the heroes. Just run away screaming like any normal person would do, let 'em duke it out themselves.

ANYWAY, enough of my bitching...

5 Worst: (Not necessarily in order)
1. Saw (I'm sorry, but is this not the most overrated movie? What I heard was it was one of the goriest, most disgusting, scariest movies ever made. It wasn't. It was actaully un-scary, though I will give the ending props, it made the movie just enough to not make me depressed over the rental price)
2. Darkness Falls
3. Boogeyman
4. Gothika
5. Predator (Dunno if that one counts, but man, I hated this movie)

<--- Also...how do you get a picture under your name?
