I'd love that. In my opinion Pinhead and the Cenobites are the dopest characters to be absolutely wasted in a horror movie/series.

"Did not" = "cannot"?

Clearly the fat and beardy producers of remakes are conveniently ignoring the concept of video and DVD.

I'll see Trailer Trash if it happens just because I loved the Thanksgiving trailer.

Interesting lil tidbit...

The Creeper will be back...

Victor Salva has apparently got the green light from some heavyweight studio for Jeepers Creepers 3 and is apparently busy on a script right now. He might serve as producer for this one and someone else might direct, or he might end up directing it.

It may well be Straight-to-Video, although nothing's confirmed yet. For more developments, watch this thread.

New news [sort of] on the upcoming 1/18/08 monster film.

"1-18-08" to Get New Trailer... and a Title!
Source: ComingSoon.net October 31, 2007

All has been relatively quiet on the 1-18-08 front for the last few months since the San Diego Comic-Con, but a source for ComingSoon.net has revealed to us that the J.J. Abrams-produced monster movie will get a new trailer AND its title will finally be revealed on November 16 in front of Robert Zemeckis' animated Beowulf.

So far, we know very little about the movie beyond what we've seen in the teaser this past summer, the pictures on the official site, the director and writer (Matt Reeves and Drew Goddard) and some of its cast (Michael Stahl-David, Odet Jasmin, Mike Vogel, Lizzy Kaplan), but hopefully, more will become clear in a few weeks.

Stay tuned for when the trailer comes online!

Dario Argento Back to Giallo in Yellow?
Source: ShockTillYouDrop.com
November 14, 2007

Early rumblings of Dario Argento's next project have floated our way.

An insider tells us the Mother of Tears director may take a crack at a "loving homage" to the giallo films of the '60s and '70s entitled Yellow - an apropos moniker since giallo means "yellow" in Italian and was a popular term used to describe mystery and crime pulp fare.

Argento's Tenebrae, Bird with the Crystal Plummage and Deep Red are all classic and rich with the red stuff examples of gialli.

Hannibal Films' Richard Rionda Del Castro and Rafael Primorac are championing the Yellow script by writers Sean Keller and Jim Agnew. Tuck this under your hat as rumor at this point and keep it here for the latest while we aim to carve up some confirmation.

Fielding critical acclaim for American Gangster, currently at work on Body of Lies with Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio and ready to embark on Nottingham...Ridley Scott's a freight train these days. Some would rather not see him return to our genre after the grand guignol madness of Hannibal, but Scott is planning on taking a crack at the supernatural in Stones.

According to Variety, he'll rev up on the pic for Fox 2000 following work on Nottingham. Written by Matt Cirulnick, the "project is a big-scale supernatural thriller revolving around the mysterious destruction of ancient religious sites around the world. It turns out that Stonehenge is the tie that binds together artifacts that still have primeval powers."

Cirulnick previously penned New Regency's Elysium, a drama with Greek mythology overtones.

The current WGA strike has placed its development on hold.

- Dimension Films announced today that the remake of Hellraiser, which is being written and directed by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, has been bumped to a undetermined 2009 release date.

The film was slated for release this September.

In addition, MGM has pushed the release of Eli Roth's Trailer Trash out of its August date and also into an undetermined 2009 release. Its being assumed that this was done because of the strike.

- Today action star Jason Statham revealed that there is talk of a remake to the James O'Barr comic adaptation, The Crow, and that if anyone ever came to him he'd do it.

Jason Statham tells IESB: "You know, there's talk of them redoing THE CROW. That was a good movie with Brandon Lee, although that was years ago. So if that one comes my way, bang! You know, there's so many comic book movies out there and most of the time there's only a handful of people who can do them any justice. Hopefully, they'll come my way for one of them."

Brandon Lee played Eric Draven, a young rock guitarist who, along with his fiancee, is brutally killed by a ruthless gang of criminals. Exactly one year after his death, Eric returns -- watched over by a hypnotic crow -- to seek revenge, battling the evil crime lord and his band of urban thugs, who must answer for their crimes.

- As the producers of the franchise have told, you can't have a "Saw" film without Tobin Bell. So, with that said, word has trickled in that Bell is confirmed to return in Saw V. He'll be joined by Costas Mandylor and Scott Patterson as Detective Hoffman and FBI Agent Strahm, respectively.

David Hackl is stepping up his obligations to the "Saw" series as production designer and is sitting in the director's chair, too. Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton penned the script.

Shooting begins in Toronto on March 17th and is aiming for an October 24th release date.

- Today the official MySpace for George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead posted the first batch of theaters that will be showing the film on February 15th.

The film will follow a group of college students shooting a horror movie in the woods who stumble upon a real zombie uprising. When the onslaught begins, they seize the moment as any good film students would, capturing the undead in a "cinema verite" style that causes more than the usual production headaches.

Gallo Wants Out of 'Giallo' Why?!
Posted: February 8, 2008 @ 2:16pm

Just weeks away from film, Vincent Gallo tells the NY Daily News that he's trying to get out of starring in Dario Argento's next feature film, Giallo, because they cast Argento's daughter Asia. "After they cast [former fiancee] Asia Argento, I've been trying to get out of it," Gallo told The News' Patrick Huguenin at Sunday's Adidas Y-3 show. Never mind that her dad, Dario Argento, is the director. "I'd rather not be in a movie with her," Gallo said. "I'm not a fan. I was a fan of her father's. I'm retiring." The film will tell the story of a serial murderer (played by Gallo) with a taste for attractive women, who is being chased by a solitary detective (Liotta).

((That sucks Rod. I hope this doesn't mess up the process of the flick much.))

chaibill 02-11-2008 02:43 PM

why remake Supira just re-srelease it if you want a "new generation" to see it. When those jerk off pot smokers watch it and then compare it to the original they will think the original was too (insert typical response here). Oh and the music ...wonder what type of music it will be? A) death metal B) gangsta rap C) A or B since the "new generation" would only accept either of those two.

Tale of Two Sisters? Just release it here with subtitles like HERO, or FEARLESS, or Kung Fu Hustle, or Couching Tiger, or House of Flying Daggers ........Oh thats right teens don't watch those types of films...see where i am going here?

Victor Salva will return to direct Jeepers Creepers 3: The Creeper Walks Among Us for MGM.

The third film is expected to begin lensing this summer.

Jeepers Creepers was the sole horror film to break the trend of the'90s PG-13 teen-thrillers that plagued theaters.

Ray Wise tells Fangoria that he will reprise his role of Jack Taggart Sr. from the previous film. “Now that the strike is over, we can finally get rolling on the new JEEPERS CREEPERS,” Wise said. “Victor has written a big part for me in it.”

Salva has high hopes for the film and believes that a theatrical release would do just as good as the first two. "MGM initially suggested that we go direct to video with the third in the trilogy, but we hope that the exciting entity that the new MGM is becoming realizes that both 'Jeepers Creepers' films set [then-] records for their Labor Day weekend box-office openings, before each went on to make over $100 million apiece on DVD," he continues. "I believe a theatrical release is critical to this kind of success on video. I don’t think you can have one without the other, and it would be a shame not to be able to see what I have planned for 'Jeepers 3' up on the big screen."

As for the plot, "It includes a prologue in the Old West and might bring back several characters from the first two films 20 years later. The script and story will be big on scares and give us plenty more of the traditional Creeper creepiness, with a few more bits thrown in about what it might be and where it came from.”

Inspired by the classic Edgar Allan Poe story "The Tell-Tale Heart," the contemporized adaptation sees Lucas starring as a single father whose recently transplanted heart leads him on a frantic search to find the donor's killer before a similar fate.

Shooting on the film is scheduled from mid-March to late April in Rhode Island.

Might be interesting but the story already sound far and away weaker than Poe's. Am I becoming too cynical or do a lot of the newer horror ideas seem mediocre at best? Maybe I'm just looking for a different type of story...

- About "Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever", Rider Strong said it was wrapped about a year ago, and is now hung up in post-production issues. He wasn't able to give much away other than Ti "The Roost" West directed and used a "ridiculous" amount of blood - "you've got people puking blood and if you thought 'Cabin Fever' was gory, this is much worse".

He also related the story of ending up on the same flight to Wilmington, North Carolina (where "Cabin Fever 2" was shot) with Deputy Winston himself, Giuseppe Andrews, who, like Strong, is returning as his "Cabin Fever" character. He explained that the plot of "Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever" is the infected water ends up at a prom and, well, things pretty much go downhill from there.

I agree. Poe's story was great, and had it's own thrill to it, and there was no supernatural element, only guilt and suspense. This story sounds more like 'The Eye' than 'The Telltale Heart'
