I wouldn't say that I hated it...I just found it really bland ad too self-aware. Plus, seeing Pleasence in such poor health was really, really hard to watch.

The Dark Shape 06-08-2008 12:51 PM

This movie has steadily grown on my since I first viewed. I strongly disliked when I first watched, but after viewing it several more times, I really start to like it. It explains quit a bit into the Thorn plot and is actually a pretty good slasher movie.

While it was very sad to see that this would be Pleasence's final movie in the series, you can't take away how creative this movie was. It's really one of a kind in this series. You can link it to H4 and H5, but it is still separable from those movies. I would LOVE to see the next Halloween movie continue where this one left off. I would really like to see a storyline with Tommy Doyle in it again, although the Akkads have made it very clear that the Thorn storyline is dead.

It's the best of the sequels apart from Halloween II. Its another flick that gets ragged on a bunch that I dig a lot. The series went to shit after this one.

I hear ya, Elvis...I saw it in the theater when it came out and was impressed with how strong the violence was... Part 6 has a huge body count too....always a plus in my book.

Essential ingredients of a slasher flick!

It's a really dark flick too. Mikey Myers found his menace again in this one. Its a pity this got overshadowed by all the Screamteen flicks at the time. It was a really dumb move that they didn't stick with the formula used in this one and went onto ruin the series by trying to imitate Scream with H20 and Ressurection.

Fuck an A!!!! The only reason to watch H20 is JLC being back...but Resurrection is fucking horrendous.

Elvis_Christ 06-08-2008 08:21 PM

The opening to Resurrection was really cool but the rest is embarrasing.

It'd be cool to see JLC do more horror flicks like back in the day.

The Dark Shape 06-09-2008 12:45 PM

I'll admit H20 was a bit too "teenybopper," but it was still a good flick and is one of my favorite sequels.

Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween H20, Halloween 4, Halloween "6", Halloween 5, Halloween Resurrection are the way they go for me.

Elvis_Christ 06-09-2008 06:47 PM

Halloween II is my favorite of the series. I really dig the energy that flick's got.

James Whale 06-09-2008 08:45 PM

Thumbs down for 4 and 5.

HALLOWEEN 4 and 5 are my least favorite in the series. I really appreciate the feedback on part 6. 4 and 5 have that little girl plot. It just isn't cool. Of course Danielle Harris showed how pert her breasts had become in ZOMBIE's mixed bag of a movie. I just couldn't stand her in parts 4 and 5. Part 5 is the worst in the series. Really dumb teenagers who I hated were stalked and killed.Boring. Isn't it cool to be talking about something other than ZOMBIE's remake?

Elvis_Christ 06-09-2008 08:53 PM

I like Halloween 4. Maybe it's more of a sentimental thing cuz I saw it when I was 8 or 9 and it was my introduction to the series.

I just finished watching part 6 on AMC!

I haven't seen part 6 since 1995; I don't like to watch movies over and over; it takes away from the initial effect. There's an alchemy to the first viewing of a movie. It also takes away from the effect when you stop and start a movie as well. I believe a movie has the greatest effect when it is watched all the way through with no interruptions. I believe now more than ever that part 5 of HALLOWEEN is the second best in the series. The lighting and story are fantastic. I don't understand why the critics panned this one. H20 came next and was very good, but RESSURECTION sucked. This film is twice the film that ROB ZOMBIE made and I liked Zombie's take .Okay, the druid stuff is a bit silly, but there are so many great suspenseful scenes with great music and even better atmosphere. There is a lot of talent on display here.

i still think 3 is the best. Funny I was watching part 6 like 3 nights ago and was thinking how annoying the guy is. expecially the phone call. in the beginning. the rest were ok.

 Part 3? It has NOTHING to do with the series....I dig it for nostalgic reasons, but it's definitely bottom of the barrel.

James Whale 07-12-2008 10:09 AM

Part 6 ,not 5!

part 6 ,not 5!!! My mistake!!

Halloween Part 2

I have finally watched all the Halloween movies minus the Rob Zombie version. After watching all of them, one question still remains.

at the end of Halloween part 2, there was that brown haired girl that was dressed like a clown (just like Michael Myers was in part 1) and at the end of the movie they show her walk up behind her aunt and kill her with a pair of scissors.

what ever happened to this girl? i never saw what came of her after that.

does anyone know?

kstefanec 12-05-2008 10:24 PM

Don't you mean H4? Which continues in H5? Better dig those movies out again and watch them in order. Jamie wakes up in a mental ward unable to talk in H5. Hope this helps!:)

reds_21 12-06-2008 05:49 AM

i just looked up the cast on halloween 5, Jamie was played by Danielle Harris. she is the one that killed her aunt with scissors. (not episode 2; sorry)

when i read the description of part 4, it says that she gets the help of Dr. Loomis to stop Michael Myers. i guess where I got lost was that after she kiled her aunt, it never entioned anything about it in any of the later episodes.

did she kill her aunt and that was that? you never heard about her killing her aunt after that.........................what happened?

The_Return 12-06-2008 08:39 AM

Here's what I'm struggling to figure out: did you actually watch the movies, or just read plot descriptions online?

reds_21 12-06-2008 02:55 PM

i watched the movies but i went back to the descriptions to see which episode that girl first appeared in. i thought it was 2 but i was mistaken.

but i dont know what that has to do with anyhting.

my question was, what ever happened to her killing her aunt? i dont recall ever hearing anything about it

Doc Faustus 12-06-2008 04:17 PM

Franchise horror and continuity are like paella and butterscotch. In the few instances where the two met, the results were sorta disastrous.

neverending 12-06-2008 08:55 PM

Hah- very clever Doc.

Zero 12-09-2008 03:42 PM

hey - i like butterscotch paella - just as much as turpentine lollipops - yummy
