I don't feel like reading through all six pages so if someone already said this I apologize. You hate old people, and they hate us. It's equal, but when she is dead and gone you will miss her.

Have you told her how you feel? This can get better you know.

My grandmother came to live with us when I was in high school and she was a real pain in the ass. I started to feel the same sort of feelings, but instead of raging about it, I told her that she was making my life hell.

I explained all the behavior I found annoying, particularly that she wasn't my mother and that she had little, if any, understanding about my life.. She defended some of her actions, became highly embarrassed about others and then schooled me on my shitty attitude. We never had another problem and it opened an otherwise closed door of communication between us. From then on, we had an excellent relationship until the day she died.

Confrontation is scary, but it could save your sanity, your relationship and be rewarding as hell.

We've tried, she's a closed book. She listens to no one, not at all. She wants us to do everything she desires and leave her alone otherwise. It's pointless.

yeah..some old ppl are like that.
I get on reasonably well with elders..in face more than i do with the youngun's.
I like to listen to them talk about thier youth etc.
The grumpy ones i just totally ignore.
