You're right. I mis-read the article I was looking at. It shattered Memorial weekend records, but actually came in 4th all time behind Spiderman, Star Wars III & Shrek 2.

thanks BW...I wasnt even close to the original mark of X3 though...over a 100 million geez, and I thought people wont be expecting much outta it since Singer wasnt directing...

The majority of movie goers aren't worrying about directors unless it's Tarantino, Speilberg ect. Which are frequently mentioned throughout the promtion of the film anyway.

yes thats true, plus the overwhelming sense of curiosity linked with the whole "what happened to Jean Grey?", also the big name franchise, big stars, two previous blockbusters, final chapter of the trilogy etc.

But still, the way in which Singer revived the comic-to-movie adaptation after Batman and Robin did have a big influence. I have to say X-Men was an awesome adaptation. Although X2 is my fav out of the 3.
