"Phantasm" was a very small film, but it was influential, and really raised the bar on quirky. If you watch it and find yourself laughing at some odd detail, wondering if they meant it to be weird...well, they probably did.

Every day going to work, I used to drive by the dam in Irwindale where they filmed the shot of the...that big pile of rocks stretching off into the distance (not to give anything away). At some point during that job, I got the laserdisc and listened to the commentary, found out that they had filmed a scene at that dam, and said "Wow!"

The film is so weird I never bothered to wonder where the heck they made it, but it turns out it was largely here in Southern California...

Favorite line: "You gotta be shittin' me, man, that mother's STRONG!"

I guess I am one of the ones that hate it. I have tried to like this movie, I have. :o I have watched it several times and each time I have been bored out of my mind.

assuming this is just for horror movies and I'd be able to watch other genre of film then Halloween.....

on the other hand if you're talking about watching one movie forever that has to be horror then I'd go with Shaun of the Dead.

"Evil dead 2" or "Dead alive".

Canīt decide.
