Films like Dracula and The Devil Rides Out had such an impact on me that I've been a fan ever since, I'm now 37. Although watching the old Hammer films now doesn't have the same effect as it used to I will always have great memories of the excitement and anticipation of watching Hammer films from a small boy and into my teens. Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee are genuine movie legends and Hammer gave me my first sexual fantasy when watching Vampire Lovers for the first time. Ingrid Pitt to a fast developing 11 year old was truly amazing! There are too many great films to try and pick an all time favourite but apart from the ones Ihave already mentioned, other titles to leave a lasting impression on me are Taste The Blood Of Dracula and Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter. It's just a shame that there is nothing like Hammer in the modern day movie world today.
!

Hey there Bud, it is well known on this site who Ingrid Pitt belongs to.......that's my woman you're talking about. You do have good taste :D

Hammer Horror (The Devil Rides Out)

To Gojira in Texas , as I was born in 1967 and The Devil Rides Out was shown on the BBC here in England during the mid-seventies that makes me about 8 or 9 when I saw it.Still a kid in my book. As well as the Friday night horror on commercial TV we were also lucky enough to have the Saturday night horror double bill on BBC 2. The first film would be a black and white classic from the thirties and forties such as a Bela Lugosi or Boris Karloff movie. This would be followed by a colour movie such as a sixties/seventies Hammer or Amicus production. Even quite new films at the time such as Race With The Devil and The Crazies were shown. Those were the days ,eh!

My favorite Hammer film is Taste the Blood of Dracula.

Gojira 02-02-2005 07:24 AM

I agreeTaste the Blood of Dracula is one of the better Dracula movie by far. I liked how it shows 3 civic leaders who are thought of as being good pillars of the comunity are infact greedy evil people. Yeah that movie rocks.

Not least of which because of the great turn by Ralph Bates who should have been in for longer.
