It's dark, comforting, familiar, provides me with everything I need

Fight Club seems to me that it would be about 'fighting'

Unless people are fighting for their LIVES against some psycho, creature, deformed inbred, supernatural being, or inexplicable force or disease, I don't really care for the 'fighting thing'...It's just really boring to me.

No- it's so much more than that. But nevermind- you're a lost cause. :o

AND as for you:

Just wanted to add my 2 cents on The Fly debate from a few pages back. Personally, I have a hard time even classifying The Fly as a remake - its an entirely different movie based on the same source material (George Langelaan's short story). It's a fine line, IMO. To me, it seems more like Cronenberg sat down and said "Hey, thats a really cool story. I know they already have a movie version, but I'd like to try my hand at this", rather than "Hey, that was a really cool movie - lets put some gore in it".

So, I suppose you must also hate The Magnificent Seven? Fistful of Dollars? Evil Dead II? Batman Begins? Shall I continue?

Some of those are sequels- not remakes.

I think Evil Dead 2 is labeled as a sequel, but is a remake in disguise

It's as if Sam said, "Now that I have enough money to do this right, and a better idea how I want it to go...I'm gonna redo it all over again"

More of a 'doing it the way it should have been in the first place' sorta thing.

The actual "Fight Club" aspect of that movie literally takes up about 10 minutes of screen time. Maybe 15, max. Its a movie about anarchy, psychosis, all the dark corners of society....and soap. Lots of soap.

Its a movie that defies genre IMO, but its way closer to being horror than it is to being action, with the helpful pinch of very black comedy.

Here's a deal: if you watch this movie and dont like it, I'll send you a check for however much you paid to rent/buy it, plus an extra $10 for wasting your time.

They're both more remakes than The Fly is.

Plus, you're avoiding my point :p

HaHa...getting convincing...Hmmm

Okay, just answer these few things, and I might actually consider it:

Body count?
Creative kills (this is simply a yes or no)?
Time wasted on unnecessary talking (drama)?
Time wasted on romantic crap?
Time wasted on sex scenes?
Average length of spans where absolutely nothing happens?

i'll take the ten bucks

Hahahahaha--- give up on her Return- she's set the bar rediculously low for what makes good cinema.
