As far as Zohan goes, the only thing I've seen thus far that made me laugh is the feet thing, if you know what I'm talking about...

The Nun.

A crappy piece of crappy crap.

I saw that movie like over a year ago and I always recommend it to people as a joke and then laugh when they get mad at me. It's honestly the worst movie ever made.

not only is it a crappy piece of crappy crap, it has quite possibly the most outrageous, asinine tagline of all time:

"not all water is holy."

Dante'sInferno 06-11-2008 03:44 PM

My cousin spent the night, and stayed most of today...We watched.

The Simpsons Movie-He liked it

XXX-He'd already seen it,but wanted to watch it again because of "Feuer Frei!" and

Meet The Fockers.

30 Days Of Night

Really enjoyed this one. A bunch of people told me it sucked... they were wrong.

James Whale 06-11-2008 09:35 PM

Are there any holy- rollers in the film?

LMAO

the tagline is more like a preview of what's to come.

a better tagline would be:

"immediately don't watch this. also, not all water is holy."

vargtimmen (hour of the wolf) (1968)

doesn't quite live up to the standards of most other bergman films, but is still quite good. features some pretty terrifying images and assaulting, atmospheric scenes.

I enjoyed 30 Days of Night quite a bit myself.

Never let others' opinions sway your own choices, unless it is someone whom you respect and trust a lot, or place a lot of blind faith on.

I say watch it, and form your own opinions.

even then ..

I'll keep their opinion in mind - but i'll still want to see the film.

30 Days of Night is a great flick.

Dawn of the dead (1978), again... \o/

And I'll keep watching it again and again and again...

I actually thought The Nun was decent for a STV flick. D:

Angra 06-12-2008 11:48 AM

"Meet the spartans" 1/10

After the first 5 minutes i thought, hmm.. maybe this isn't as bad as everybody says?

After 30 minutes i had to turn off the dvd player.

Jason Friedberg may quite possibly be the director/script writer with less talent ever. Step aside Uwe Boll..

Roderick Usher 06-12-2008 01:11 PM

Phenomena
Always entertains. I'm guessing it's Zero's favorite Argento flick.
8/10

Goosebumps: Welcome to Dead House
My favorite one in the series. It actually delivers a scare or two.
6/10

Goosebumps: The Werewolf of Fever Swamp
Solid, fun... A little dark for Goosebumps.
5/10

Goosebumps: The Haunted Mask
Best imagery (even if it is lifted from Halloween III) but the acting is soooooo annoying and the resolution makes little sense.
5/10

Phalanx 06-12-2008 05:31 PM

Last night I watched "The Signal".
One story, one set of characters, across three different subfilms of the same subject/storyline, each written and directed by three different guys but kind've in collaboration.
I actually really liked this...was expecting that it may be a little like "The Ring", but it's a pretty far cry in truth.
Brutal, crazy, scary, funny, intense...to a horror fan, this film satisfied, was IMHO very well done. Cool musical score too.
Those that have enjoyed movies like 28 days later, unknown, and cube ought to be well into this one. 8/10 from me.

Get Smart ... pretty much what you'd expect - there was a couple of times where i laughed pretty hard though. ... meh - free tickets - could have done worse.

Why did I wait so long to see this?

neverending 06-13-2008 12:18 AM

Fido.

Hahahaha.... GREAT movie.

Daedalus 06-13-2008 01:24 AM

"The Howling"

I actually in the process of watching it but still

_____V_____ 06-13-2008 07:44 AM

The Fountain.

Superb! A piece of mind-blowing cinema I was extremely lucky to see. Hugh Jackman has earned a lot of my respect after this movie...and I hope to see him do more in similar vein and stamp his authority as a great actor. Aronofsky's direction is brilliant, as is the script and the pacing. I love the cinematography (especially the colours) of this one too.

A great experience. I recommend it to anyone with similar tastes in cinema finesse. Mind you, it's not for everyone.

I just don't get it:confused:

Sandler isn't half as bad as Will Ferrell and Steve Carell, and all the other shit actors who only star in lame *comedies* because they can't get anything else.

urgeok2 06-13-2008 08:30 AM

to be fair - i think both Will Ferrell and Steve Carell can do drama ....

but the filmmakers are milking these guys for what they are worth - riding the gravy train on what made these guys so popular.

and they are popular because john Q public has been paying $$$$$$$$
to see them do their dumb comedies.

the pointing finger of blame always ends up squarely on our own chests

It has made quite an impression I must admit. I can't wait for a Aronofsky boxset.
