I've got April Fools Day and Dracula: The Satanic Rites for today. I've never seen the first, (is it any good) and it's been a long time since I've seen the second.

It's been a while since I saw it, but I remember it being pretty good.

Cool, I laughed my freakin' ass of when I seen it. And I still do every time I watch it. But trust me, if you're nt into stupid comedies like me, you want find anything to laugh at. Besides that, I recommend it to anyone who's in for a good, cheap laugh.

Freddy Got Fingered.

What a pile of shite - is this what passes for (whacky?) comedy these days I must be missing something. All I could see is that nob who was married to Drew Barrymore arseing about and gurning for the camera while zany stuff happens around him (although admittedly this was viewed under stoned, high and drunk conditions).

What on earth is going on? The Farrelly brothers manage to inject some charm into their comedies, but toss like this is made by morons, for morons.

Sorry, any morons who enjoyed this.

Peace.

you mean spencer tracy and cary grant films ?
(which i do really like)

funny thing is - i hate tom green .. the way he looks, the way he talks, the way he acts ... his whole schtick ..

but this movie ... there were a couple of moments that made me laugh pretty damn hard ..

EXTR3MIST 04-11-2005 01:46 PM

You would think plain daft movies like this would be better appreciated under the influence, but I just found it all the more irritating.

"Hot" comedians mugging for the camera... I can just about put up with Jim Carrey (quite funny in Ace Ventura, sinister in The Cable Guy and, especially, excellent in The Truman Show) but the rest of them are just on an ego-trip and I can't sit right knowing I'm just watching some tit pull funny faces and do a silly voice to get my attention.

i hear you .. and i do make allowances ..
I understand how my parents felt now when we thought Steve Martin was the shit ..

I dont often find the trademark signature 'bits' the modern comedians do to be funny ... but i like some of the situations.
Dumb and Dumber had some really funny moments ...
Mike Meyers can be funny when not acting like Mike Meyers ..

heyyyyy wait a second ... Tom Green, Jim Carrey, Mike Meyers ...
I know what it is now ... YOU hate Canadians !! Son of a Bitch !!

EXTR3MIST 04-11-2005 01:53 PM

I like Mike Myers (and not just because he's half-English) - smashing in Wayne's World, and the underrated So I Married An Axe Murderer.

And I just loved him in Halloween.

Axe Murderer is good work ... and he's his best as Dr Evil in the Austin Powers movies (the actual austin powers is pretty lifeless)

EXTR3MIST 04-11-2005 02:02 PM

Never seen any of the Austin Powers movies, though we refer to getting stuck in small alleyways sideways in Grand Theft Auto as "Austin" moments (I've seen that bit in the little car with the 50-point turn he has to make to try and get out...)

ChEEbA 04-11-2005 02:08 PM

Urg, just wondering if you've seen "Azumi"?

no i havent ... havent heard of it ..

??

ChEEbA 04-11-2005 03:13 PM

Get it, watch it, you will like it.
Simple storyline...nice action, good splatter...very much resembles a manga. In fact, I think it may be based on one?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0384819/

ps - Fuck that little bitch reviewing it for imdb...doesn't know what he's on about...clearly expecting the wrong kinda movie...

newb 04-12-2005 09:29 AM

If you find yourself in the video store today and see a new release called "Sasquatch Hunters" , and think to yourself...."hmmmm....I should rent that"....do yourself a favor and kill yourself.
Its that bad.
Horrible acting and some guy running around in a gorilla suit.Until the last 2 minutes, where they must have found some money in the couch or something because they decided to end the movie with some really bad CGI bigfoot.

It was much better than the "happy hollywood ending" of the remake.

You thought that was a happy ending??

movieman64 04-13-2005 07:47 AM

Was the re-make with Kiefer Sutherland?

Preacher 04-13-2005 07:51 AM

Yeah. I love the re-make.

Didn't know there was an original.

Will have to check it out.

Last film I saw was the Pianist.

Brilliant it was. A must see.

Even though the remake was directed by the same guy he did lighten up on the ending as opposed to the original.

movieman64 04-13-2005 08:37 AM

I had seen the remake some time ago, and agree that the ending is quite a bit more subdued then the orginal.

I´m not gonna see the original then. The american version was dark enough for my taste. Great movie though.

IDrinkYourBlood 04-13-2005 01:36 PM

Angels in America. Well its not really a movie but its a really great Series starring Al Pacino.
