Wait... you're talking about the Day remake? Are you being facetious?

Iron-Man.
While I don't consider this "one of th best action films ever" like some people seem to have, I think it was pretty solid, and among Marvels best.
The origin story was pretty much right on the mark, and I think RDJ played a pretty good Stark.
A good point someone made is that it was reminiscent of transformers in parts - but you could actually tell who was attacking who.
A solid movie, funny, and a good introduction to the universe/character.

Alright, I tried, I thought maybe this could be ok and even hung in after one of the zombies jumped through the air like Spiderman. At 28 minutes though, after seeing a zombie jump up and crawl on the ceiling for NO REASON I turned it off. Bad acting, bad effects, and simply put... a bad movie. Also, those fast zombies, they ran like gomers and all I could think of was the laugh from the commercial with the buck toothed shark.

Mardi Gras Massacre

One of the original "video nasties" which I believe remains banned in Britain to this day.

Not that there is really anything that should keep it banned - I think the most likely thing is that no-one has bothered to submit it for reclassification.

It is low budget and poorly acted. However it is not without its charm. I actually found myself enjoying it.

The murders are all the same. Exactly the same, in fact. This is not a movie big on variety.

However it does have a low budget grindhouse charm that kept my interest. This is one of those films that I found "so bad it's good".

Iron-Man

Good acting(Downey was utterly exceptional, in my opinion). A few laughs. It's an origin story and therefore a little short on action, but when it's there it's good. All around good, fun movie.

UNTRACEABLE--meh...ok I suppose...pretty unbelievable circumstances.

Diary of the Dead--, nice effects..not as scary as [REC], bogged down by unlikable characters

Teeth – You know, the movie about the girl who has teeth in her vagina. Seemed like it might be good – though the risk of it careening off into stupidity was high. Well, I didn’t realized how big that risk was. Really stupid movie that can’t decide if it’s horror or comedy. According to this film, there’s not a single nice guy in the world. Super.

Shrooms

What a stinking movie, nothing happens at all, the characters were weak, the story tried hard but just made itself out to be ridiculous... Not even any good tripping moments..

0/10

Twister- 9/10

So close to my top ten, just because I love tornadoes and I grew up with this movie. It's one of the only movies with a truly gripping climax. So intense. Thoughts?

Just watched "See No Evil" last night. It was pretty good, I thought. Kane deffinately makes a great madman. The death scenes needed more but the suspense was deffinately there :)

Definatley not as scary but I felt it was just a deeper film in its satire and the unlikable characters added to the satire. That dude could've put down his camera a bunch of times to help his friends but didn't... shit like that. I thought it really showed the selfishness of our plugged in society.

The only guys that were shown as bad were the few that got... bit. Her dad was a very likable male character. A sympathetic male co-star wouldn't have worked with the story and I think would have been severely out of place.

Transformers with mom and the fam.

urgeok2 05-11-2008 07:59 PM

not a movie - but we just got back from the play version of My Fair Lady ..

amazingly enough (for anyone who knows anything about it) Marnie Nixon - the woman who did the actual singing for Audrey Hepburn in the movie version - as well as Deberah Kerr's singing in The King and I ... played the mother of Henry Higgins (a non singing role)

the play was pretty good .. could have been better - but the sets were outstanding .. and if you squinted - you would swear Rex Harrison was up on the stage..

Wrong Way (1972)

Early 70's grindhouse film that basically details the plight of 2 girls whose car breaks down and are picked up by some lowlife guys, who proceed to rape and abuse them for most of the film.

Very unpleasant film. Also poorly acted and edited.
