Really glad to find this one in a cheap bin. Dug it ever since I saw it on TV as a kid. My favorite film by Mann apart from Manhunter.

absolutely love this one - i found mine cheap too which blew me away - i'd have payed $30+ for this easy.

It's definitely overlooked. They just don't make 'em like this anymore. The characters are really believable and straight up. Can't go past this one or The Driver.

yeah - it's a great film .. every aspect of it.

i remember the driver too .. i believe i have the DVD of that somewhere as well .. ryan oneal smashing the doors off the car during his demonstration :)

Yeh dude! That shit's badass. The late 70s/early 80s crime flicks are the closest we got to having modern noir. Gonna have to track more stuff down. Revolver wasn't a bad watch and the Blue Underground release is dope. I really like the stuff they dig out.

That does sound pretty cool, I'll have to grab a copy and let you know what I think. I've got a copy of Frankenheimer's 52 Pick-Up I've been meaning to watch again. It was always my favorite of the Elmore Leonard adaptions.
