It isn't. You can get it on cheap public domain. I caught it on Turner Classic Movies.

WAY better than I expected...Many of you probably won't like it (cuz there are so many picky people here :p), but it was different, funny, and had plenty of really good gore...It was a little slow at first, not too bad though, moved really well for about the entire last half hour...Honestly, I just really liked this movie and Dustin did, too.

Every time we are renting movies at the Movie Gallery (free rental weekends) I want to pick this up, and my husband always ignores me....LOL...Now thanks to your post, I may be able to convince him that it couldn't possibly be as bad as he believes it is. :p Thanks Rayne. ;)

I think we may have similar tastes in movies (which is kinda rare :D), or maybe we're just willing to give some things a chance when others won't (and yes I have seen some MAJOR crap because of it, but also caught a few good ones that I may not have seen if I were more selective).

If we DO have similar tastes, I know you'll like this one. Not sure about your man, but who knows? He may end up liking it, too :)

Art of the Devil 1 and 2. Meh, 2 is better than 1 but they are both mediocre movies with brief moments of inventive gore.

Yes, I am willing to give just about anything a chance really. Because I have fun with it, even a lot of the REALLY bad ones, I know they are bad, but they are just so funny.....;) Usually as long as I am entertained, I am happy....and yep, I have caught some pretty decent films that I would missed otherwise. He's usually the same way I am.....especially if there is some kind of alcohol involved....:p

My tasteless friends actually liked it. That's surprising.

An A&E documentary about Charles Manson...what a scary, scary man.

Its way later than I should be up, but I think I might start The Mist in a minute...I stupidly rented it today, thinking I'd have time to watch it and utterly forgetting how much stuff I actually needed to get done. Its due back tomorrow night, so at the very least I think I'll start it so I get SOME of my money worth...

I just watched The Honeymoon Killers. What a steaming pile of sleazorama... very enjoyable watch though.

Finally...(I know)!

I got to see what the excitement was all about...and I must say it was worth its place in the Academy Awards. Detailed review in my Reviews thread.

Goal II: Living the Dream (2007)

As a good fan of Europian club Soccer I quite enjoyed the movie. But to see the giant like Real Madrid winning the champions league title by defeating Arsenal...it was like a dream for them that failed to come true in reality for the last few years.

i hated Juno ..

(except the mom and dad)

every word that came out of her mouth made me want to push her down a stairwell.

this 'hip-hollywood' way of talking is pure bullshit ... i dont find it charming or endearing, i find it pretentious and contrived - and sadly enough i've been exposed to people who try to portray themselves in this way.

phony assholes.

it turned me right off of the movie.

didnt see an oscar anywhere near this film ... Ghost World was better.

I liked it.

Unusually fresh, really gawky...and handling of a very delicate subject matter in the plot with a very good deft touch. Kudos go to the script-writers and the director. This movie has one thing which most movies lack - a heart. :)

we watched shamayayadingdong's Signs last night

(weird coincidence eh V ?)

liked it a bit more than i did the 1st time - still boiled down to a couple of effective scenes surrounded by a lot of malarkey ..

the beginning of the end

I say!

Although ***POSSIBLE SPOILER*** the alien creature shown at the end was such a disappointment after all that build-up. It practically brought the whole movie crashing down.

Unbreakable is still in my Top 20 though. I dont think the man can top that.

Despare 04-08-2008 08:55 AM

M.Night isn't bad at all and has a pretty even track record with me right now. I thought Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense were great, thought Signs was ok, didn't like The Village and haven't seen Lady in the Water. How is Lady anyway?

To give you an idea - you would love to rip your eyes out and throw em at the movie screen.

And that's being gentle...

i feel the same way - 6th sense and unbreakable were great ..

signs was the first 'sign' that he was losing his grip - becoming overconfident.

the villiage and lady in the water are unwatcheable. (as far as i'm concerned)

_____V_____ 04-08-2008 09:04 AM

It would be a sacrilege to even consider The Village a horror movie.

Meh...

(you can tell how much I hate it...as much as Leprechaun! )

Leprechaun???? Jennifer Aniston's greatest role and you hated it!?

Seriously though, I'd rather watch Leprechaun than The Village anytime.

I d rather sit together with Jar Jar Binks and Ruby Rhod than watch those.

joshaube 04-08-2008 10:50 AM

I've accepted the fact that I am the only one who didn't dislike The Village. Maybe it's because I didn't expect a horror movie from it. Unbreakable is #1, Sixth Sense #2... Signs was blegh... Lady in the Water I HATED the first time, liked enough the 2nd (a year later)

besides the misleading ad campaign - there were tons of things i hated about the movie.

i thought the performances were wooden (esp the howard girl and Hurt)
there were parts of the story that were just too stupid for words.

(oh - we keep the monster costumes hidden in the same room as where we routinely punish the nut job)

the need to make red a key colour again ... the self serving cameo ..

the film as a whole felt lazy and over confident.

in any genre - there was no payoff.

and lady in water ???

at least Uwe Boll fought his critics ... Shamatayadingdong killed one in his movie ... woah what a blow.
