Im off to take advantage of the 2/$20 deal at Furureshop. I was going to get 4, but considering Im going down to the kickass movie stores in the states on Friday, I think I'll stick with 2. Providing they have the same films as in their flyer, Im getting Se7en and Freddy Vs Jason.

Blah. Whenever I go out to buy a ceratain movie, they never have it and I wind up getting something else. Oh well, I got a raincheck for Se7en and FvsJ, then walked over to Wal-Mart to browse...

I love finding mis-tagged items. I got the Masters of Horror 2-Pack for $12 CDN...it's supposed to be $19, but they tagged it wrong:D. I was going to wait for the inevitable boxset, but I actually like this way better. $20 every couple months is better than $80 or so all at once.

joshaube 04-15-2006 11:35 AM

The_Return, incase you didn't hear the news... They ditched the 2-pack releases and are going straight to boxset, but the delay for that will be quite some time. :x

I assume you're from the UK? Here in North America they're sticking with the 2-Pack. Next one comes out May 9th, Mick Garris and the guy that did Phantasm [cant spell his name]

joshaube 04-15-2006 03:52 PM

Ah, sorry to hear. Will a box come out in the US/Canada ever?

In other news...

ORDERED;
Oldboy (2004)
Ichi the Killer (Unrated Edition) (2001)
Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002)
Koma (2004)
A Tale of Two Sisters (Deluxe Edition) (2003)

and finally...
Tales from the Crypt - The Complete First Season (1989)

No official word on it yet, but I would think they'll probably release a box once all the 2-packs are out.

Yellow Jacket 04-17-2006 04:10 AM

- House of 1000 Corpses
- From Dusk till Dawn (which also comes with Full-Tilt Boogie)

- The Jeff Foxworthy Show: Season One

Bunman 04-17-2006 05:22 AM

House of 1000 Corpses is good but I enjoyed it alot more after seeing The Devils Rejects. Maybe coz it helped me understand the characters abit more, who knows? Good film tho.

Going into town now to buy some DVD's now - Try and find some gems!

Thumber 04-17-2006 07:29 AM

Sasquatch Horror Collection (3 DvDs):

1- Sasquatch, the Legend of Bigfoot (1977)

2- Snowbeast (1977) (TV)

3- The Snow Creature (1954)

Evil Spawn (1987)

filmmaker2 04-17-2006 08:15 AM

I own the other two but I have NEVER seen, "Sasquatch: The Legend of Bigfoot." But I would like to! I have actually not heard of it, and I have sort of a casually strong interest in Bigfoot movies. That is to say, I am not an "expert" on Bigfoot movies, but whenever I come across one, I am always willing to sit down and watch it all the way through, no matter how bad it is.

Sometimes, as in the case of "Creature from Black Lake," the film turns out to be surprisingly good!

But now I have to go grab one of these triple feature sets so I can see "Sasquatch: The Legend of Bigfoot."

Thumber 04-17-2006 08:19 AM

The reason I picked it up was because I too had not heard of the movie and after reading customer reviews it sounded like this movie was tough to find.

I want to pick up Creature from Black Lake how would you rate that movie?

filmmaker2 04-17-2006 08:27 AM

Well, here is some guy's review of that movie:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074356/usercomments-11

Oh, but you may want to try to find the Simitar VHS release from many years ago.

There's a recent DVD release you can find on Ebay; it's okay but I noticed it was a TV print, shortened by a minute or two. The Simitar VHS release is as far as I know complete.

Supposedly there is a widescreen DVD put out by some company but I have not been able to find this.

By the way, I think I may have seen "Sasquatch: The Legend of Bigfoot" on TV, way back in the late 70's! It might have been a similar film, but back then I watched all the Bigfoot movies whenever they showed 'em on TV. They were great.

Thumber 04-17-2006 08:54 AM

Thanks that was very helpful!

filmmaker2 04-17-2006 09:56 AM

Yeah, the scene I definitely noticed was missing from the full-screen DVD I got was a conversation between Rives and Pahoo, as Pahoo worries that the girls invited to the camp aren't gonna show up. It's a good scene and I'm pretty sure it was just snipped for time and because it had no serious effect on the story.

I just bought it myself, and although the movie is definatly one of my all time favorites, the features blow. No commentary, all it has is a very dry interview with David Lynch who I must say is a very, VERY boring man, despite his crazy way of thinking. He gets so damn sidetracked and tells these irrelevant stories that seem only funny to him, and each of which take about 15 minutes to tell.

Yah, that's what I have. Great transfer of the actual film, just dissapointed in the features...or lack there of. You'll see what I mean.

And yah, what the hell does the ''2000'' mean?? Was that, perhaps, the year Lynch wanted 'Eraserhead' to take place in?
