Irish country side. Somehow finding a hand and a stick allows for something to surface from the ground. Then the rest of the film is two people(not who found the stuff) being attacked by demon zombies who are hurt by the light. I realize demon zombies makes i sound cool and campy. Its not like that, not like Evil Dead kind of campy cool. There's a lot of good stuff. Excellent acting. Excellent...blocking? The camera work was very well done. The person doing the filming really knows their job. This seems to imply the director knew how to direct. Visually pleasing, and often. However the story...the script the main characters doing stupid cliche horror film things. And then ignoring the smart things they could easily do. Its annoying. I was able to make it to the end. Decent ending too. In general, for me, its a pleasure, since its so rare, to have a woman rescuing/helping the man. But she was being just as stupid as he was before. But get a few zombie demons after her and the character is instantly tough and confident. Just not very observant/smart. I would not recommend, but you'd probably enjoy it at least enough for one watch. 5/10 |
Broken Horses (2015)
http://i346.photobucket.com/albums/p...psdchbdlvt.jpg Indian filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Hollywood debut by remaking his 1989 Bollywood crime/drama PARINDA, as a gangster thriller which was good, particularly the finale was gritty & shocking. But Broken Horses is just a very pale version of that, a wasted opportunity. >>: C- |

B Decent disaster movie, I found some of the story line to be kind of dumb. Furious 7 A I loved it!! I've seen all of them so this one is on my 'to buy' list too. Dark Places A+ Fantastic thriller!! |
