Need help IDing movie

Hi everyone. I don't have much to go on and I've been googling for a few hours and have come up with nothing. What I recall is this movie would have been late 70s most likely. There is an old man who is dying and he calls a bunch of people to a location, maybe his house, and he's going to select a successor or heir. The main actress is maybe his assistant or something? Bad things happen and eventually the young woman is standing next to the old guys deathbed (which has gauzy curtains so you don't see him) and suddenly his hand reaches out and he puts his ring on her finger declaring her the heir. Any suggestions? I feel like, at least at the time, the lead actress was well known. I tried Karen Black but didn't see what I was looking for on her IMDB. I feel like she was a brunette, maybe looked like Kate Jackson?

Sounds like The Legacy, from 1978, starring Katherine Ross.

Both of these sound good. Added to my watch list.

Hey. Newbie here, with a movie ID request.

Hi all, I'm a newb. Just joined up. Big fan of the classic stuff; Exorcist, Shining, The Thing (Carpenter) Scanners etc. (I guess those last two are sci-fi ::big grin:: )

I am hoping someone will be able to help me out with I'Ding a movie that somehow partly seared itself onto my brain, but I can't remember its name.

All I remember:
A hot dark-haired woman attacked in the bath by a Wolf-Mutant-Beast type thing??

And no, it's not Slither btw.

I need help! I remember seeing a scene from a horror movie over a decade ago, and it's been tattooed on my brain ever since.

This is disturbing, so be warned... It's a black & white scene where a man is lying on his back in bed, I believe he's wearing a suit, and he begins stabbing himself in the stomach while he's masturbating, and he begins ejaculating blood. The effects were insanely realistic to me (maybe not so much now), but it really freaked me out.

Any ideas?

It's funny how I remembered it in black & white. Either way, it's just as disturbing as when I first saw it.

Name of Early 90's Horror Movie w/Green Filter???

So, I realize this isn't a lot of information to go off of, but I was hoping you could help me come up with the name of a horror movie...

I'm pretty sure it was a TV Movie (NBC/ABC/CBS/Fox) around the early 90's and it was set in some sort of mansion or large estate and the villain was some sort of ghost of a woman. The other thing I remember was a lot of the movie had a green filter/background to it.

Any ideas?

telme 12-05-2019 09:02 PM

Name that movie

I have a movie stuck in my head that I can't remember the name of so I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out!
I remember watching with my mother YEARS ago, but unfortunately she is no longer around to be able to help.

So the details are pretty vague. I can see it clearly in my mind, but this is what I can describe.
It's basically like House of 1000 Corpses, with the hotel and 'roller coaster ride' and murderous house but at some point in the movie there is a house/shack thing that has a patio, and on the patio is a great child and dire mother (like the characters from Thirteen Ghosts).

I have tried googling, but all it comes up with is Thirteen Ghosts and that is definitely not it.

I hope someone can help, as it is driving me crazy!
Hopefully this is also an actual movie, and not just a 'made up' memory I have.

There’s several questions to your question. Here’s a few of them.

1. When did you watch the move?
2. How old domyou think the movie is?
3. What kind of roller coaster ride are tou talking about?
4. What is a murderous house?
5. What do you mean by great child and dire mother?
6. What the fuck are you talking about?

1. Who would know, I have a vague memory of being around 7, so about 20 years ago?
2. I think it is an 80's/90's movie, but not sure.
3. The kind like in House of 1000 Corpses?
4. A house that has a lot of murders in it, as above.
5. Basicall an adult size baby, and a really small mother - best if you google it, but they make an appearance in Thirteen Ghosts.
6. If I knew WTF I was going on about, I wouldn't have had to post and ask::roll eyes::

Looking for movie name. HELP!

My husband is trying to remember the title of a movie. He remembers it was in Spanish, probably Mexican. Besides language, these are the thing he remembers about the film:
It seemed to be short stories / vignettes.
One of the longer stories revolved around people going into a movie theater. Being interviewed somehow before going into the theater and individually led to sit down. Once sitting just enough time to realize everyone else sitting is already dead, then they got killed from behind. Until the theater was full of dead bodies.
Caveat his memory may be hazy about details.

Any help of getting to the title of this film(s) would be greatly appreciated.

First thing i thought of was Demons 1985 by Lamberto Brava. Its sort of a movie within a movie and takes place in a theatre. Its Italian.

Anyone help me find a film I watched as a kid?

I watched this film about a monster or demon with horns and red eyes when I was a kid. Should be from the late 90s to mid 2000s in age.
I remember the start of the film a hunter is in the woods and puts a killed dear on his truck. Something ends up eating the dear and you see some red eyed figure appear by the drivers window which kills him. Not sure about much else from this movie but not being able to find it has bugged me for ages :(

Bloof 01-16-2020 05:02 AM

Not ringing any bells with me.

One girl was a quiet thing and was dressed as a cat and turned into a cat type thing and had sex with the "tough guy" in a barn.. At the end when the sun comes up all the demons leave. Thats all i remember but its really bugging me ! Helllpp 😂

LADY BECOMES CARETAKER FOR POSSESSED MUTE OLD WOMAN

When I was in middle school 2012 we watched this movie about an old lady whos granddaughter or daughter hires this other girl to move in and take care of her. I think there might have been a grandfather there too but Im not sure. The old lady doesnt talk or cant talk and it turns out she had been possessed for a long time and since shes dying now, or shes just too old, the demon or whatever it was wants to take over the care taker girls body. The most specific thing I can remember is the last few scenes where somehow the girl figures out that if you dont believe its real then the demon cant take over youre body and so there in the attic I think and she keeps telling herself that she doesnt believe and its not real but then the last scene is the woman not speaking and the demon took over her body the end.

I also remember that the house might be on a lake or something or there were a lot of trees or something but it was kind of secluded?

Need SO MUCH HELP...name the horror movie!

Hey everyone...help me out, please...
Hoping some older cats can recall this.
I was a small child...maybe 8 or 9 years old...drive in with the parents, this must have been back in the late 70's I think...MAYBE 80, 81...but I really think 70's.

I always turned around and watched other screens at the drive in, not satisfied with whatever blah my parents were watching...

Anyway...gritty, grainy, fairly grindhouse looking...about an older, maybe late 30's, early 40's Vietnam veteran...the actor almost looks Italian or Mexican, I can't tell...dark hair, maybe dark scruff or beard...
He comes back from Vietnam craving blood...I dunno what happened over there or what the plot was, but he's driven to kill and drink human blood.
Once scene in particular takes place in what seems like a desert cave...very similar scene to House of a 1000 Corpses, where someone is tied to a wall and gets their arm chopped off...very bloody, creepy scene from what I remember.

All internet searches bring me to a movie called Deathdream/Dead of Night...
But that's not it.

HELP!!!

Bloof 01-28-2020 09:56 AM

Lol, i loved "Deathdream aka Dead of Night" could your movie be " Cannibal Apocalypse 1980" ?

Bloof 01-28-2020 09:59 AM

Your welcome!

Rawhead Rex 01-28-2020 11:18 AM

That movie looks awesome...but no, it's not the same movie...
John Saxon is John frickin Saxon...I'd have remembered him being in it.
The movie I'm hunting down had no known actors in it from what I recall...
And a good portion took place in a desert...as I remembered, some in a desert cave, where dude was tied to a wall...pretty sure it was an axe used to cut off his arm. Very 1000 Corpses like, only way before...decades prior...

Bloof 01-28-2020 02:23 PM

Good point about John Saxon. ::cool::

Sorry if I am not following the rules right, please move this if need be, but I am trying to identify a TV show. I thought it was from Dead Like Me, but it is not. In an episode, an untalented stand-up comic literally dies on stage by exploding for no reason after telling a bad joke, spontaneous combustion. I asked this all around and no one knows. I saw this mentioned on the Dead Like Me dedicated page on TV tropes, it said merely this, but for the life of me, I cannot identify this, I do not know why no one can. Does anyone here recall this from a Dead Like Me episode, or from a fairly obscure show, or perhaps from a similar show such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Supernatural? I would appreciate any help, thank you.

Bloof 02-02-2020 04:17 PM

Sorry, there's nothing that comes to mind for me. ::confused::

You know, I just watched episode Death Defying, season 2 episode 10 and there is an arm wrestler who suffers a minor spontaneous combustion incident. He does not do standup, but when the incident happened, in the bar, a banner on the wall reads, "comedy night", so I think the person who mentioned this probably confused details. This must be it.

Monstermaster 02-02-2020 06:29 PM

O-k guys, here's a challenge, but I need your help, o-k. I had this book in my Kindle collection, or have, but for the life of me, I cannot remember the cover, the publication year, the name of the collection, the author, or the title, big help, I know. What I do know; however, is that I remember reading this in 2016-17, it was fairly new when I read it. It is horror, perhaps with elements of science fiction. It is a short story. This is all I can remember. A man (I think a father) jumps off something, a balcony I think, and it was ruled as suicide. The son (I think he had two) was seen talking with his mother watching the news. However, his mother cried out and told him to look down at himself, I think his name is Eli, maybe, his arms and legs were slowly disappearing (something like "Eli (or whatever his name was), look down at yourself", or something like that). That is all I can remember, I do not know the ending.

The collection, the Seer of Possibilities - And Other Disturbing Tales, by Thomas O, and Choose Your Doom: Collected Short Stories - Picking Stories for the Apocalypse, both seem familiar, but neither is it. I checked. For some reason apocalypse keeps on popping up. I cannot remember the cover, but I asked all around, and someone on another site recalls reading a story such as this one, but cannot remember almost anything, but they recall that the cover is monochrome.

I findled around my Kindle to check, but since I cannot remember any vital information, I cannot find anything. I have considered some story collections that I did return though the Twisted Endings series by Timothy D. Mc Lendon, Small Horrors: A Collection of Fifty Creepy Stories by Darcy Coates, 86 Short Horror Stories by Zahid Zaman, Some Will Not Sleep: Selected Horrors by Adam Nevill, and the Shadows and Teeth – Ten Terrifying Tales of Horror and Suspense trilogy.

I checked with my local library, and this person was so helpful and kind. She did ask approximately 500 librarians though and no one knew. As I said I asked all around, but no one knows what I am talking about. I remember reading this vividly and no I was not dreaming. Can you horror fans please help me? I know this is on the tip of my tongue, but nothing is popping up. Thank you.

Edited: I posted this question on Yahoo answers, two days ago and one person told me that the horror author Joe Hill (he wrote Dark Carousel) writes these types of stories, but I do not know if that is not from him. Another from another site that he vaguely remembers reading this story, but cannot recall the title, he does remember the cover having a monochrome look, being white on the top and some other color around, probably black or red, if that helps. Something tells me it is one of the Twisted Endings books that I mentioned earlier, but unfortunately, they are unavailable for downloaded on Amazon Kindle, of where I originally downloaded them. Can someone please help me with this? This must be familiar to at least somebody here.

Monstermaster 02-08-2020 08:15 AM

Nothing? Why did I bother asking this if no one in the world even knows what it is? I know I did not imagine this, someone just has to know what this story is. I will see if I can ask this on another horror site.

Monstermaster 02-12-2020 07:32 PM

O-k, having asked this on this horror site, and recently on two others, no one knows. I cannot believe that this does not ring any bells for anyone. Someone on Yahoo answers; however, was kind enough to mention that horror writer Joe Hill of Dark Carousel writes these type of this stories, and someone on another who recalls reading something like this, said that though they cannot remember basically anything, they can remember that the cover had a monochrome appearance, largely white with some design in the middle in darker color, covered about a quarter to a third of the cover, and was centered. That must help spark things for all of you. I would truly appreciate any help.

cheebacheeba 02-13-2020 11:45 AM

I mean, it's not sparking anything for YOU the one that supposedly liked the thing...so bit harsh in your assessment...surely it should ring a bell for you just the same. Maybe you're just not very good at describing things?

Either way. Doesn't this kindle thing have a way of telling you what you've read out of your existing collection?
Seems like doing a bit of footwork here would probably get you your answer.

Sorry, I do not mean to sound so impatient and judgmental, I am just surprised that rarely anyone has helped me with this, and it does not seem familiar to practically anyone, except the person who recalled the appearance of the cover (the monochrome look). Unfortunately, Kindle does not have a way of telling me that, it has a list of things I downloaded, yes, but I have downloaded so many books on my Kindle since then, and I tried searching through almost my entire short story collections.
