Vol. 1 is easily the best, with classics like Buck Privates, but vol. 3 takes a close second.

How're the films on vol. 4? I'm kind of hesitant to buy it, and it's more expensive than the others.

4 is essential as it has 2 more monster features on it (jeykll and hyde, and the mummy)
but it only has one other film (keystone cops)

the other 3 features are behind the scenes and best of features..

strange that it would be more expensive.

i think #3 is the best one for 'meets frankenstein' alone

filmmaker2 03-30-2006 06:53 AM

The "Frankenstein's Bloody Terror" DVD is the coolest thing ever, or one of the coolest things ever.

Also, I miss Abbott and Costello meet Dr, Jekyll and Mr. Hyde--one of my favorite A&C monster features.

Actually, I havent. Plan on watching it tonight.

RagbagGeorge 04-01-2006 01:03 PM

You're in for a good show man, it's one of my favorites! The remake was actually pretty good too, not as good though.

filmmaker2 04-01-2006 04:37 PM

I just got thru with the VHS boxsets and enjoyed it but was dissapointed there was no closure by the end of the episodes, must've been cancelled before they got the chance. You get a bit more of a insight into the Planet of the Apes world. The series had a Kung-fu thing going on which I dug. Yeh I didn't know there was a animated series either till I read about it on the back of the last tape...... gonna be a bitch to track down on VHS tho I'd say.

thanks ..

those prices are pretty good...
unfortunately shipping to canada and the exchange rate still makes the discs pretty expensive.

I have most of them already on the origional criterion laserdisc releases ... except The Vanishing ... that'd be a good one to get.

Yeah DDD probably doesn't offer their free shipping to Canada do they? I know there's a www.deepdiscountdvd.ca but I don't think their criterion's are on sale.

newb 04-04-2006 08:19 AM

X-box 360, two games

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter

i could have bought a used car for the same amount of money.
