It's the nose...

She should marry Owen Wilson.

The Hills Have Eyes (Remake)

Pretty good remake. It had a good amount of gore. Some of the acting was good at spots and other spots were bad. Overall a pretty good remake.

Actually, compared to the original i thought this remake was pretty great.

The original, on the other hand, feels very non-horrific, almost comical in some scenes and very outdated.

I enjoyed it a lot maybe a 6/10 isn't the best of a rating. Maybe a possible 6.5-7 I liked it though.

Don't excuse your rating. I think my rating was pretty much the same. Didn't like the original tho.

But i'm still looking forward, with great hope, to Neverwhere (2009)

I think it works out better in novels because of the fact that in your mind your seeing what you think it should look like, and not every director is going to have the same vision as you. I especially love the sandman graphic novels though. I hope they make the first one into a movie and then thats it, the first one was freaking awesome. Hmmm maybe the one with the dreamland too though. That one was great. As long as they stick to the graphic novels and not what a director thinks it should look like, unless Gaiman directs it.

Have you seen Startdust yet? I'm about to watch it. I"m still holding out for Gaiman movies because I love his novels and comics.

btw, I don't know why you were quoted, I think I hit quote instead of quickreply lol sorry. But if I want people to actully respond I might just quote them for no reason and say what I want to, it seems to work out that way. Lol

Michael Clayton.

Great movie. Its stuff like this which makes me wonder if George Clooney will ever realise what potential he has.

It maintains awesome atmospheric suspense throughout the movie, with plot twists and turns which make for compelling viewing. The direction is taut, and the characterisation is perfect. John Grisham didnt write this...but if he watches it once, he would wish he did.

This comes highly recommended from me to Rod, Alky, Des, Newb, Jenna, Return, Fortunato and all lovers of fast, suspenseful cinema.

12 Monkeys (1995)

A brilliant, harrowing, devastating tour-de-force of enormous magnitude and ferocious vision. Every meticulous detail is exquisitly calculated, every angle perfected, every space explored. This is Terry Gilliam's ultimate masterpiece, and a fierce additon to the archives of American cinema.

I loved it.

I saw it when it first came out, really enjoyed it. I feel it is Clooney's best performance, and I love watching tight, well-made thrillers like this.

Glad you liked it!

Stardust - Not my cup of tea, but I enjoyed it. Yet again its apparent that this is a Neil Gaiman movie. I especially loved Robert De Niro's performance, though I did find it kinda strange that he didn't change his voice for the movie, infact he sounded normal, and everybody else was british. Oh yeah... not to mention he's a gay lightning collecting sky captain, and yes I'm serious. All in all 8/10 .

Actually i've got movie, but i've only managed to get through half of it. Not my cup of tea either. Well, neither was the book actually.

Although there was 1 sentence in Stardust (the book) that i found very poetic and very Gaimanish. Let me see if i can find it.....

Right, here it is.

" A fieldmouse found a fallen hazelnut and began to bite into the hard shell of the nut with its sharp, ever-growing front teeth, not because it was hungry, but because it was a prince under an enchantment who could not regain his outer form until he chewed the Nut of Wisdom. But its excitement made it careless, and only the shadow that blotted out the moonlight warned it of the descent of a huge grey owl, who caught the mouse in its sharp talons and rose again into the night.
The mouse dropped the nut, which fell into the brook and was carried away, to be swallowed by a salmon. The owl swal*lowed the mouse in just a couple of gulps, leaving just its tail trailing from her mouth, like a length of bootlace. Something snuffled and grunted as it pushed through the thicket—a badger, thought the owl (herself under a curse, and only able to resume her rightful shape if she consumed a mouse who had eaten the Nut of Wisdom), or perhaps a small bear."

Yes, I am looking forward to this one. :)

Unrest ~ actually this had potential, and it was actually fairly well made in some ways. Unfortunately though, it is so dreadfully dull, and the writing isn't terribly smart. Also the characters were not only mostly boring, but at times pretty moronic in their actions.

Headhunter ~ Probably has one of the most unintentionally funny conversations I have heard in a film in awhile. But its also pretty dull for the most part and takes itself a bit too seriously. The quality of some of it was better than expected though. Which might not be saying much. ;)

The Mothman Prophecies
I found myself drifting off in some parts... but overall, I enjoyed it. Excellent ending, and that scene depicting the phone call with Indrid Cold was hair-raising.

Huh ???

Anyhoo...The Squid and the Whale.

edit: I was just on the imdb boards and couldn't help but notice all the people who were whining about the characters not being "likeable" which is why they didn't like the film. This is precisely why I liked it. Because they aren't likeable, because the parents are so self absorbed they don't see just how they're affecting their kids. It's a very real movie, that portrays people in an accurate light, and I found myself really identifying with the kids (especially the older son), being the product of a very ugly divorce as well.

I know, I love Gaiman for things like these. I have to admit that some of this stuff isn't my kind of thing, but I just can't help but like it, if not love it.

Edit: oh yeah, just watched Fight Club for about the 50th time. I still love the movie. I think I may reread the book again.

Eating Raoul

Liked it a lot, felt let down by the ending though...

BloodRedFlower 01-30-2008 12:50 AM

I saw Cloverfield yesterday, nice!! If you don't get motion sickness easily, then my advise is to watch it on theaters. The movie really gets you inside the story, I was like "run you idiots, RUN!" all the time hehehe, pretty cool.

Anyone liking it? Hating it?
