I love the bar scene. :D

I used to say I enjoyed every movie featuring Lance Henriksen, then AVP had to come out. :(

No Country For Old Men (2007)
Third time for me. After all these viewings, it etches itself into cinema history as a modern classic. And, of course, the best of the year.

A little get-together thing today; with a cheese theme. We're watching: Santa's Slay, Planet Terror, Black Christmas (06) and then finishing the night with one of my favourite horror movies... Evil Dead 2.

Yeah, but I prefer "the colour of money" if you want to put them up against each other.. I like the on the road vibe, lots of great camera angles and cameos... Even Tom Cruise doesn't bother me to much in this film.

I was very pleasantly surprised, I hadn't heard good things elsewhere (a friend of mine hates it). But now that you mention it, I think I remember that thread.

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

Why couldnt Taladega Nights have been this good? Will Ferrel at his best. He somehow manages to overdo and underdo everything at once.

These are my audiences reactions to the films we watched and do not reflect my opinions.

Santa's Slay: Pure cheese. Laughed asses off throughout. A lot of fun.

Planet Terror: Not only is it filled with cheese, but it has a good story. An actual "quality" movie. It was deemed a good movie that also had a lot of cheese as an added bonus.

Black Christmas (2006): Better then the original. Moved a lot faster. Liked the added backstory. Was general scared in some scenes / jumped a lot.

Evil Dead II: Was confused... sort of put off. Liked the original better. Though there were more laughs, however.

The Beast With Five Fingers (1946)
An exceptional, moody creeper with a lot to boast, including a solid underground cast and a breathtakingly terrifying Peter Lorre performance. I'm very happy that I caught this one.

really well-done quirky drama/comedy. vincent gallo's narcissism shows through in spots, but overall i really enjoy this film.
it also has one of the most satisfying happy endings ever.

Wild Zero.
actually pretty dissapointing. the film was kind of a mess, it was all over the place.
the guys from Guitar Wolf were pretty awesome, but they didnt even have a big enough part.

Hatchet

Very gory but I didn't really enjoy this film as much as I thought I would. I really wanted to like it but it just wasn't funny to me nor was it like OMG crazy. I have seen it all before I guess. The only part that I really liked was head rip scene. Oh and did I mention that I hate Deon Richmond?

"The heartbreak kid" 6-7/10

To be honest, i really can't tell if i like this movie or not. VERY mixed feelings about it.

It didn't have me laughing out loud more than twice and especially the first half seemed very slow going for a comedy. But i guess it was kinda cute in some weird way.

"The pleasure of your company" 6/10

One of the lamest stories i've ever seen. Biggs.... MOVE ON!!!!

Seriously, that dude will be playing the same character when he's 50. It's pathetique. He's a young Leslie Nielsen, except that Leslie first got stuck when he became a senior actor...

On the plus side, i guess the first half of the movie had some ok funny moments. It also had some pretty funny supporting roles.

But the biggest plus was, without a doubt, Isla Fisher. She really brought a whole deal to her character and I fell in love with her the moment she started talking. Why didn't Biggs do the same?? That ungrateful JERK!!

The Terrible Grumbler 01-05-2008 12:25 PM

Last seen movie: Boobles (1980).
