Welcome2PrimeTimeBitch - Loved your video, I'll vote for it :)

I'm really enjoying The Walking Dead, there are some really memorable points through season 2 - as people have mentioned further up. The only thing I have noticed is that most of the characters seem really bland.

Daryl seems to be the best character throughout the series so far, he's got the most feeling, and comedic value. He just comes across as a real person more than I've found with any of the others.

The Second Series was a little slower but it went out with a bang at the end and it can't be that bad - we're all still watching!

Anthropophagus 02-24-2013 01:16 AM

Daryl is without a doubt the best character. And although the gov is a vile evil sonofabitch he adds great depth to the cast.

Geek 02-24-2013 01:30 AM

the gov? who do you mean?

If you havent started on season three yet then i will remain quiet till you do.

Geek 02-24-2013 06:28 AM

Ah haha ok. I think we're getting it in a couple of weeks

SamSlayer 03-09-2013 02:20 PM

But hey Morgan came back, for the time being or is he gone for good? :)

neverending 03-09-2013 02:53 PM

I think that's the last we'll see of Morgan. I'm glad they tied that up though. I've been wondering all along what happened to him.

Rela1024 03-10-2013 07:01 AM

I'm still stuck on season 2. I had to take a break from all the constant bitching and searching for people, it was getting on my nerves. I'll probably finish it out today cause apparently a lot of stuff has happened since I last watched it.

Anthropophagus 03-27-2013 04:39 AM

I have got to be really honest and admit that i am getting bored of this show now.
I record the show on a Friday and it is almost a week before i can be bothered to view it,it does`nt hold my attention like it once did.

Oh well... not everyone can appreciate the finer things in life.

Anthropophagus 03-27-2013 10:04 AM

It has lost its impetus i feel.I still watch it but not with the same enthusiasm as when it begun.
It drags on for far too long.I will stick with it for now but not sure for how long.

The Villain 03-27-2013 02:24 PM

I can't wait for the finale. That last episode was really powerful and it was really heartbreaking watching one of the toughest characters on the show break down like that. Really loving this season.

neverending 03-27-2013 02:26 PM

Agreed!...............

Giganticface 03-27-2013 06:25 PM

I'm still loving it. Kinda bummed the finale is coming up, but I guess I have to make room for Game of Thrones somewhere. I'd rather that be from one of my lesser shows though, like the Following or Arrow.

I'm surprised really, we're finally getting some character development and NOW it's getting boring? :)

Anthropophagus 03-28-2013 01:23 AM

It the way i feel.

I would like to see different locations and plot twists,we don`t get either.Dont knock me down too hard,i still watch it though not with the same exitement as i once had.

On a different note,Spartacus is the show for me.Without a doubt the finest show ever committed to tv,awesome stuff.

I don't want to veer this thread towards Spartacus since it's a Walking Dead thread but i'm really hating this season of Spartacus. The only reason i'm even still watching is to watch them all get slaughtered. I really hate Spartacus and his men now.

Yeah I want to know more of what is going on else where in the world or even the US.

Oh no, I won't bash you about something you don't like I'm just surprised that it's now, that characters are starting to become less 2D, that you're losing interest. Also, I don't think it's a series that lends itself well to showing what the rest of the population is dealing with, it's all about following a small group of people and their struggles as they try to survive the monsters (both in zombie and living person form) they come across.

newb 03-28-2013 07:09 PM

different strokes for different folks....personally I think this season is pretty fucking awesome. Glad they didn't overdo the "Crazy Rick" scenario.

spoiler alert............................................. ...........

to take a prick like Merle....and make you feel bad about his death.....that's some excellent writing.

Anthropophagus 03-29-2013 02:07 AM

The second series was solely on the farm, this series is split between the prison and Woodbury,ok,two different places but the world is a much bigger place.

I would like to see other parts of the world facing the same conflicts rather than the same group over 50 or so episodes, like i keep saying i don`t hate the show but it is becoming tedious.

cheebacheeba 03-30-2013 08:02 AM

Did you used to FFWD movies to the action scenes when you were a kid?

RobbieRob 03-30-2013 05:43 PM

Spoiler...looks like a synopsis.

Hmm, I hope you're right, but I'm afraid the zombie is the new vampire...

For some reason, I find the slow ones much more creepy. Even though sometimes it's pretty idiotic how their victims seems to just stand there and wait to get caught. But visually, I find them so much more spooky. Maybe because it's easier for me to "believe" that a zombie like that could be sneaking in on me behind my back :D

Its got nothing to do with action,it is about characters i don`t give two shits about dragging through three series in the same locations.

Look,i do like the show,i have already said this but the appeal has now gone.Don`t go bashing me around the head because i don`t feel the same way about it anymore.

****SPOILERS*****

I found the finale... kind of odd. They made this big buildup, saying there was going to be this major battle, and then it was, what- a minute and a half long?

The Governor retreats? Ddn't seem in character for him.

The symbolism of moving the entire town into the prison was pretty moving though. The whole ending seemed a bit rushed.

Thsat said, I found the previous episode far more powerful. Merle's change of heart and then death were so tragic. That was one of the best episodes in the whole series, IMO.

.

Don't 99% of TV series stick with most of the same cast and location for the entire run? ER didn't move to a new hospital every season. Gunsmoke stayed in the same town and had the same characters for all 50 years of its run (yes, I know that's an exaggeration)

The Villain 04-02-2013 02:49 PM

SPOILERS AHEAD

So i watched the finale and although i was pleased with it, i had some gripes. Like NE said i was expecting more of a huge battle with a lot of casualties and instead there was only a quick thing and nobody died. There was no altercation between Michonne and The Governor or Rick and The Governor and I was expecting more of a huge epic conclusion like in the second season but the powerful heartfelt ending did fit well for this season.

I loved the part with Milton and Andrea and once again they were able to make me care about a character when i previously didn't like them as they did with Merle.

My biggest complaint is that season 1 and season 2 changed the dynamic of the show after each season but there still in the prison and the governor is still alive. I'm worried that the fourth season is going to be exactly the same and that they'll just drag it out because it worked before.

I love where they seem to be going with Carl. The transformation of Carl over this season has been great already. A character i hated last season has become one of my favorite and i hope they use him more next season.

mike3881 04-18-2013 11:25 PM

Tried to watch but I can't get pass the five minute mark. What can I say I'm just not a zombie guy. I've always found the premise dumb especially in this series. I read the first 7 volumes because my friend lent them to me. It's hard to imagine these people are surviving this world but the armies of the world somehow lost. Most of the zombies are easy to kill.

The Walking Dead...

I don't see a TWD thread, is that because everybody here thinks it's naff as well?

I enjoyed the first series and maybe the next but other than that I lost interest quite a long time ago. The comics are much more enjoyable.

Thanks for the link, I'll enjoy reading that later... I only just noticed that the forum Display Options default to "Last Month". I was wondering why there were so few threads :D

Yes I really enjoyed it at the start but I missed the beginning of S03 and pretty much everything since then and never really got around to catching up.

I've only recently discovered it and just watched the first series. I thought it was brilliant. The second series is on Lovefilm so I'm going to be watching that very soon!

I love the Walking Dead both as a comic and as a TV show, the last season finale completely blew me away and I can't wait to see what they do this year.

Yea me too, I'm really starting to like Carl now. Season 2 Carl was horrible though, I was so glad that there were no more "Where is Carl?" moments in season 3. Do you think him killing that guy in the season finale was justified or do you think he's turning into a little psychopath?

Merging the two threads since nobody took the hint to move the conversation to the existing thread.

Carl is the key to the entire series. There was so much hate for him when he acted like what he was - a child. He did childish things. Now that he's growing up in an extrordinary situation, people ask wtf is up with Carl?

Just put yourself in his situation, spending his formative years in a violent, decaying world, where fighting for your life, and seeing the people around you die, is a commonplace occurence.

Carl is the future of his society. He's seen his friends transformed into inhuman monsters. He's seen his father do unspeakable things. Yet, he's holding together. Considering what he's been through I think Carl is behaving in a reasonable manner.

I love what they're doing with Carl. His storyline has been interesting even when he was rebelling in the second season. Without that, probably nothing interesting would have happened. I really hope they focus on him a lot more this season as watching a child grow up during the zombie apocalypse should be a good story.
