Gears Of War 2
A lot has changed. And oddly enough, they took several pages from Halo 3. |
Knights of the Old Republic for PC... surprisngly enjoyable at least for me
|
Mario Kart DS :)
|
Finally beat Tomb Raider Legend. I quit playing it for a while but I just bought the new one so I finished up this one.
|
I just recently decided to dust off Bioshock. Finished it in a day, rather forgiving little game it was.
I thoroughly enjoyed and still think it's use of lighting and indirect story setting via historical audio tapes worked a treat. I feel plotwise it suffered a little with trying to deliver big KABLAM like twists and would have felt much better if they hadn't tried that. The ending was however very emotionally satisfying, which is nice. I jsut wish they hadn't muddled up so much of the philosphy and symbolism towards getting to that ending, it lost so much color in the last hour or two that I was kind of glad it was over. |
Final Fantasy XII
I had this game for a long time before I actually started playing... And once I did I spent most of my time messing around rather than doing what I was supposed to. Levelled up too much so the final fight was a yawn... just set the gambits and literally let the game play itself. I kinda regret doing that, the game was fun but it would have been better if there was some challenge involved :o |
Justice League Heros a fun game but a lot more fun if you have a friend to play with. Much, much better using the 2 player format.
|
Gears of War
After playing 2 online (not into the campaign yet) I decided to go back and beat the first one. Surprisingly I stopped playing pretty close to the end anyway so it didn't take too long. |
Paper Mario
|
Chrono Trigger.
Took me long enough! |
Super Mario Sunshine
Incredible little game. |
I never really got into "sunshine".
I rememeber it not standing out so much as Luigis mansion though. The 'cube was a good little system and I wouldn't mine getting a collection of the games...never finished one thing...so that's some good gaming. I WOULD HAVE beaten "wonderboy in monsterland" last night if not for the stupid-ass timer system, got to the last boss and all. Fuck it, if I play wonderboy 3, that starts where I finished off anyways, as I recall a much more fun game, never finished that one either. |
I recently completed Destroy All Humans and Midnight Club 3. Destroy All Humans is worth a look for fans of 50s alien attack movies.
|
Left 4 Dead
Fun game...Just very short campaign mode. I finished all four campaigns in about three hours. |

How does the difficulty affect it? More zombies? Less health? Both? |
Quote:
A bit of both. Sneaking around witches would be a good idea. More Tanks appear. Things like that. But if your good, then it should be fun. I don't think you can choose difficulty on verses, but if you do, make sure you, and at least 2 of your teammates have mics. That and you don't get a bunch of douches on your team. That's the best way of getting all four of you to the safe house. If one of you dies, then usually you all do, and there are no closets to respawn you. But being a zombie is fun, and gives you interesting tactic ideas. Sorry. This game is my new obsession. :D |
Just beat Fallout 3 for the XBOX 360 and I feel slightly underwhelmed...
***POSSIBLE SPOILERS*** I thought that the last big fight scene was DEFINITELY disappointing. I really was hoping that we'd storm President Eden and unplug him. Sure, I sacrificed myself to save humanity and water blah blah blah... But the Southern General went down WAY too quickly - I wanted a massive battle!!! ***/Possible spoilers Then again, this IS a role playing game. I think that some of my disappointment is knowing that there is a LOT of that world that I left unexplored, quests undiscovered and uncompleted, all that stuff. Sure, I could restart it, but... I invested SO much time in this game. lol |
I am at least glad you enjoyed a game a suggested rather emphatically enough to spend a lot of time with it.
I found the ending *mostly* satisfying, though that was cheifly becuase my character had grown so far that he was willing too sacrifice himself for something more important... something that may make everyone's life less horrible. At that stage my character wasn't able to be threatend by anything, I'd already killed all 5 behemoth mutants and could walk through washington DC in my sunday best if I felt like it... in the end Colonel whathisface was not and his army of armored nut jobs were nothing I hadn't killed a hundred times before. Though I am interested to see how they are going to "bring me back" so to speak for the new content they are releasing. |
Left 4 Dead (Normal Mode)
It was a little more fun this time around, and a bit longer. Enemies were tougher and there were more of them. Started on the Hard difficulty last night on the No Mercy campaign, and I didn't get too far. I think I got past the first chapter. Definitely much more of a challenge. |

I shouldn't have gone on the Last Mission so soon; I feel as though there were a LOT of other things to explore, missions to complete, etc. Of course, now I'm playing Dead Space, but it doesn't have the same kind of personal charm that Fallout 3 does... I'M NOT READY TO LET IT GO! hahahahaha |
Well at least your version of "Big Town" is ok... I just let them die and came back later to steal their stuff... I was a little pissed I didn't kill Red earlier becuase I couldn't break into her medical supplies!
Yes well that was before he grew his conscience... obviously. One of the new pieces of content is apparently a raider controlled city, I am very much looking forward to that little excursion though. And cheeseball! What me never! It's lies all liessssssssssssssss |

Fallout 3
Was really let down with the ending. But overall an amazing game. Now I'm going through it and doing all the side quests and stuff. |
Went to a old friends house and finally got a chance to beat call of duty 5 pretty amazing game. I enjoyed playing nazi zombies to. thats a mini game you can play after you beat it once. Awesome shit!
|
Rise Of The Argonauts
Do NOT buy!!! |
Call of Duty 3(Wii)- I did enjoy the game for the most part however there are several glitches that make the game almost unplayable at certain points on a couple of the missions.
|
Dead Space... which... well it suffers the same faults as many video games. It manages to deliver some solid design with it's clunky industry age like high tech world, quite horrifying monster design (especially the freakish infant mutants with strange tentacles...) and I suppose a passable setting. The story is however... bad, the shiny side of the disc actually inspires more emotional resonance then any of the games characters and the feeble attempts at twists are just embarassing to endure (coming from someone who almost never sees twists coming).
The actual combat is fun and satisfying, though I don't feel like an engineer I feel more like some sort of lethal unshakable special ops agent that was undercover as an engineer... I should look like Steven Seagal and also have a part time job as a cook. I felt it was good enough to play through and on the harder difficulties pretty tense... as you slink around praying to whatever Sci-Fi gods there are to not throw anymore zombie like creatures at you until you can scrounge up some more ammo... and then inveitably running like hell when the aforementioned Sci-Fi gods totally stiff you ... the fuckers. Default difficulty was a slight bit to easy, you can assail hordes of creepy looking monsters without enough threat to really scare you. Definetly passable though. |
Call Of Duty: World At War (Co Op Mode)
Very fun game. Much darker than most WWII games though. Going to go back and play it solo at some point soon. |
I've finished the story mode of the Jackass game. The game was much better than I thought it would be- the balance between easyness and difficulty is good. There's lots of fun minigames. I've finally found some rythym games I can be bothered with.

Burnout Paradise
|
Bioshock
I wasn't impressed.. |
Deadspace.
what an easy final boss. i beat it without getting hurt once.... |
Silent Hill 4:The Room
|
Quote:
Partially it's just to easy even a clumsy shot as myself never died and that sucks suspense out of scene the threat of death is just non-existent. And the themes to tend to dry up and sort of devolve the game into a shoot out. Still, saving freakish small girls, hunting steampunk golems and helping a homicidal lunatic construct his opus was all very dark and skillful design. Quote:
I think the game would work better with sort of a "Fear" bar that would shake up Isaac's aim and make his reloading more clumsy. He is simply too efficent. I just finished Heavenly Sword. I bought it cheap and figured I'd give it a run. I thought it was pleasantly beautiful and had enough really odd characters to make it compelling. If you want the feeling that you are playing a campy Chinese fantasy film this one delivers that pretty well. |
Got F.E.A.R about a week ago on the PC and what a easy ending just shoot her abot 4 times then thats it. I have noticed alot of end bosses are getting easy all the time .
|
I recently finished Obscure- not a bad little survival horror.
|
Yeah I'd like to play obscure...#2 either just came out or is just about to.
A lot of good NON-RE, NON-SH horror on the ps2. |
