Gore does have a way of distracting the viewer from how crappy a movie is. I guess poop can have the same effect if used creatively. I'm not a huge of gore for the sake of gore, but when it is done in a fresh new way I like it. How many times can you watch a knife go into a head? But have a toy car with a drill on the front ram into a guy's eye socket...
