God, there’s a lot of hysterical people these days. At the supermarket, on Facebook, in the news etc. People should calm the fuck down and just use common sense. Stay at home and we will all be fine.

Coronavirus will be a boon for the horror industry. Expect many sequels to this one.

Whenever mass hysteria breaks out in any form, you can always rely on low budget horror filmmakers to milk the panic for all it’s worth. The coronavirus is now a bona fide pandemic that’s changing life as we know it for the worse, but that hasn’t stopped Full Moon Features from taking advantage of the situation.

According to Horror Society, Corona Zombies is currently in the post-production phase, proving that the studio wasted no time in cashing in on COVID-19 while the pandemonium is at its peak. The story revolves around a pandemic that turns infected people into bloodthirsty lunatics, and subscribers to Full Moon’s streaming service will be able to watch the movie on April 10th.

There’s an argument to be made that the mere existence of this movie is offensive and insensitive. Of course, the history of horror and exploitation movies is littered with films that courted outrage from the get-go. or have shamelessly exploited social anxieties and atrocities. For example, the Manson Family murders inspired a whole wave of movies that portrayed hippies as demented cultists back in the 1970s, while the H1N1 virus spawned countless disease-themed horror movies only a few years ago. Let’s not even get started on movies based on the crimes of real-life serial killers…

There will be people who find the release of Corona Zombies to be in poor taste, and that’s completely understandable. Others will probably find Full Moon’s shamelessness to be quite amusing. But the point is that Corona Zombies is likely to be the first of hundreds of movies of this ilk that come along in the next few months or years, depending on how long it takes for normal life to resume for people. And most of these movies will feature zombies because viruses and the undead in pop culture are synonymous with each other.

We could have been prepared long before this moment. Too bad we had someone say this will all blow over and a miracle will happen. Now many are in a hurry to get as much as possible.

If someone said start to plan slowly. Perhaps in January. Maybe if we caught the people coming from China before they entered the country. We wouldn't have this crazy rush to get everything. Or a virus that we have to wait at least two weeks to see who has it and who doesn't.

But I'm ok with watching horror movies and TV shows. I'm behind as it is on stuff.

For me the courthouse closed about halfway, we still need to stay open for bond hearings, order of protection and if you are incarcerated and your courtdate comes up, you are taken to court. Those who can work from home, are for others its 3 days on, 2 days off then 3 days off and 2 days on..and so on.

Illinois has issued a stay at home order. It starts today at 5 pm. Grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacies will stay open and you can visit them.

It feels so creepy. Like a black haze is over the world, looming about, tension and stress abundant. I'm going to relax and just stay calm. Movies, my site and researching for new cinema is on my agenda. Rest, exercise and eating well. I just got some health issues in check and don't want to lose any of that.

I hope everyone is well and taking care of yourselves. Stay safe.

Peace.

In Illinois..

585 positive tests

5 deaths

4286 tests given.

But that only works in that part of the world.

In reality I imagine it’s more like the song “Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting”. :D

Maybe because I've lived in areas with slow economies and almost vacant buildings, malls, etc. that it doesn't bother me. Besides I would rather be alone 99% of the time then around crappy people. Most people aren't like that though.

You would think the whole hype of "social media" people would be happy. But a lot if not the majority of "social media" is really show off media.

No, just lockdowned. Doing pretty good just relaxing playing games. Only issue I have is that I’m gonna run low on food at the end of the week. Then I have to go outside!! ::shocked::

Bloof 03-24-2020 03:49 AM

Same. Just staying home. Practicing "social distancing". Go out once a week for groceries. Miss the grandkids.
