It doesnt tell the origin of It but their is no possession taking place. Actually the story would be more interesting if it were.

The director kinda talked about this in an interview, it's supposed to feel like these kids are living in a nightmare. He didn't want the thing to be explained or wrapped up.

Yes, they wrapped it in a sheet, and a lot of good that did. Oddly, they chose not to cover its naked forms, so we had to see some old guy's junk.

I was hard to make out his junk in that shot because he was so far away.

I wish this movie had used fog as well as water. The fog couldve covered the guys junk and the ladys bush and nipples.

Do you know what I wish? I wish you'd not use the word "bush" in this thread.
